Activist Governor Signs Bill Allowing State To Bypass Electoral College

BY JAMES LEDBETTER

Since they lost in the 2016 presidential election, the Democrats have been trying to abolish the electoral college. They were angry because they claim that the only way Trump won was due to the electoral college. Now Gov. Jared Polis has signed a bill which bypasses the electoral college in the State of Colorado.

Colorado is planning to join the many efforts to bypass the Electoral College and elect a president based upon the popular vote total. However, their thoughts would change if Donald Trump got the popular vote. Some believe that due to all the voter fraud reported in 2016, he actually did get the popular vote in that election.

There is a big problem with this. If the electoral college is abolished, large states like California, Colorado, and Texas would decide who gets elected as President of the United States. This would render the rest of our votes, useless. In simpler terms, It would undermine the other states votes.

Activist Gov. Jared Polis, a Democrat, said Sunday that he will sign a law passed by Colorado lawmakers that would add Colorado to the states pledging to award their electoral votes to the candidate with the highest popular vote total.

According to The Hill, Polis called the Electoral College an “undemocratic relic” of the past. That is a disturbing statement. Mainly because all of our Constitutional rights are apparently “relics” to the Dems as well. Many key Democrats have also touted the same thing about the second amendment. (Let that sink in.)

The Hill wrote:

“Colorado will become the 12th state to join the national popular vote interstate compact. Those 12 states and the District of Columbia, which has also passed a popular-vote bill, account for 181 electoral votes, just under 90 shy of the 270 votes a presidential candidate needs to win the White House.”

Moreover, His comment parrots criticism of the Electoral College that comes from far-left, Democratic socialist, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York. AOC has criticized the electoral college many times since her election to the House after the midterms in 2018.

Her comments brought backlash on Twitter, making fun of her ignorance regarding government.

When the Founding Fathers established the electoral college, they intended to make our elections fair. With the electoral college, everyone’s votes count.

The Electoral College was made at the beginning of the country itself and was mentioned in the Constitution. States wanting to abolish the electoral college show that they do not care what the U.S. Constitution says.

Here are my thoughts: if these states abolish the electoral college, and Trump wins the popular vote in 2020, will they demand we use the electoral college? They can’t have it both ways.

There have been many elections where the Dems won because of the electoral college. However, they are the only ones trying to undermine a duly elected president. It would appear that they plan on doing whatever it takes to beat Trump.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
