Americans Are Addicted To Entertainment … At The Cost Of Tyranny

By: Roger Landry (TLB)

Entertainment of just about any origin (with special emphasis on electronic), is the motivator for so many Americans today that tyranny boldly walks right in the front door unnoticed!

These days we MUST all have a giant flat screen TV, or two or three. a phone in almost every room of the house. A smart (cell) phone, for each family member. The latest video game systems for our children, including all the popular games. A household computer with WiFi, and a laptop for mobility, or two, or three … and much more just over the horizon.

“Social” now holds a totally different meaning than it did when I was young. We talked, argued, flirted, impressed, aggravated, coerced, intimidated and loved without the aid of a hand held ego booster, meant to share our every intimate move with our chosen circle of electronic friends … in search of electronic acceptance … LIKES!

Today we cry, rage, and laugh (LOL) via emoticons, in many cases projecting the emotions we feel our electronic friends expect … without ever having to actually experience those emotions … but knowing we are expected to express them!

We walk down the street never seeing anyone, even on a crowded street. We sit in an elegant restaurant and never enjoy the ambiance. We even drive without seeing the road … a dangerous portion of the time … all as we focus on the same escapades as our electronic friends. And who are they? Do you really know? Have you ever met them … will you ??

Now mind you this is not just in the affluent homes, but exist in almost ALL homes because we feel all this is necessary for our daily lives, WHY? How much of this is really necessary to live a decent, comfortable and happy life? But still we …

  • Beg for these things

  • Cry for these things

  • Go into serious debt for these things

  • Ignore most of reality for these things

  • Elect Presidents simply because … they give us these things (Obama Phone)

… and they only hold our interest until the next item with a huge WOW factor comes along.

America is the most commercially addicted culture on the face of this planet and we have been conditioned to be just that! In a society where the government is in fact a corporatocracy run by an oligarchy, the end result will always be a society that is distracted, self centered, disconnected and un-involved! … is this Americas path to moral and economic destruction … ???

The need to wake up to the tyranny in America today must be preceded by the need to reconnect with the real world, with real people, in order to see the real tyranny … a level of tyranny we have allowed via our disconnection from our social and constitutional responsibility, be it intentional or brought to fruition by a constant barrage of media, scholastic or government related social programming/dumbing down.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
