Judge Nap: Why Trump’s ‘Defeat’ on Sanctuary Cities Is a Temporary One
After a federal judge blocked President Trump’s attempt to cut off sanctuary city funding, Trump on Wednesday accused political opponents of “judge shopping” in their bid to block some of his executive orders on immigration.
First the Ninth Circuit rules against the ban & now it hits again on sanctuary cities-both ridiculous rulings. See you in the Supreme Court!

On “Fox & Friends” this morning, Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that Judge William Orrick ruled that federal funding “bears no meaningful relationship to immigration enforcement” and “cannot be threatened merely because a jurisdiction chooses an immigration enforcement strategy of which the president disapproves.”
He said that Trump’s “defeat,” however, is a temporary one, and he revealed how the Trump administration will be able to cut off funding from cities that do not cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
“In October, the new fiscal year kicks in and the new grants will come out, and the new grants will be written by the present Congress and signed by President Trump, and they will have in them the requirement: You want the money, you cooperate with ICE. You don’t cooperate with ICE, you don’t get the money,” Napolitano explained.

Judge who just stopped cut-off of fed funds to sanctuary cities raised money for Obama
William Orrick is his name. He was appointed by Obama, in 2012, to the position of US District Judge for the Northern District of California.
He just ruled that the US government can’t withhold federal funds from sanctuary cities.
According to Public Citizen, while working as a lawyer in the private sector, Orrick raised $200,000 for Obama and personally gave $30,800 to various committees working on behalf of Obama.
That signals bias, ideological conflict of interest.
Judge Orrick also, in 2015, blocked the release of the notorious underground recordings of Planned Parenthood, in which the sale of harvested organs from aborted fetuses was discussed.
Could you find a better Judge to defend “the rights” of sanctuary cities?
Given Obama’s stance on sanctuary cities, he may as well have issued today’s judicial order himself. Judge Orrick is his proxy.
