Ocasio-Cortez Accuses ICE Of Human Rights Violations, Gets Roasted
New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez gave the most mind numbing response to President Donald Trump’s address to the nation.
Why MSNBC would have on a 29-year-old new representative who is a fact checking nightmare and who has admitted she is more concerned about being morally correct than factually correct is anyone’s guess.
But when she got on she delivered a speech that essentially called Border Patrol murderers.
“Those women and children trying to come here with nothing but the shirts on their back to create an opportunity and provide for this nation are acting more in an American tradition than this president is right now,” she told Rachel Maddow.
“No one should feel unsafe in the United States of America, and that includes our amazing and beautiful and productive immigrant community,” she said.
As usual she did not include the word illegal, as if anyone is against legal immigration.
She went on to call for Immigration and Customs Enforcement to be abolished and accused them of human rights violations.
“The president should be really defending why we are funding such an agency at all, because right now, what we are seeing is death,” the representative said.
“Right now, what we are seeing is the violation of human rights,” she said.
Then she pushed aside the death of a police officer at the hands of an illegal immigrant to focus on the death of migrant children who were brought to the border is dire condition by their parents.
“He talked about what happened the day after Christmas? The day of Christmas, a child died in ICE custody,” she said.
She got roasted on Twitter:
