Lorana Writes the World – With Guest Author, Audrey Rich

Audrey Rich was born to write. She just didn’t know it until a few years ago, when she came home pumped after seeing family she hadn’t seen in a long time. She couldn’t sleep, and she turned on her computer to surf the web, but began writing a book instead, typing the entire night away. That book Masquerading Our Love, her first, was finished three months later, and she quickly followed that with a second book, Thinking About Love. Book 3 and 4 are also currently in the works.
Audrey became a fan of YA after reading the Twilight series, but didn’t really consider writing until she began noticing that YA books were full of topics she didn’t want her children reading – sex, drugs, drinking. What if she could be a voice for the clean and wholesome YA?
It hasn’t been an easy journey. Audrey says editing is sometimes her nightmare, and she still finds mistakes after she thinks the book is done, but even more than that, marketing is hard. Anyone who thinks authors just get to sit and write books should speak to authors nowadays. Even if you are traditionally published, most publishers expect you to market your own book, but Audrey says she wouldn’t trade it for the world. She feels compelled to write and donates a part of her proceeds to God as a tithe.
