Working mothers face some daunting challenges. From inner struggles with guilt, to coordinating the schedules, they deal with real life issues. You would think, by now, the social argument would be civil and compassionate. No matter where you are in the debate, expanding our understanding will go a long way toward respecting individual choice.

It seems that the professional options for moms fall into two main categories: full-time working mom or stay-at-home-mom.  I don’t agree says, Suzanne Brown. What about the huge area of grey between those two extremes?

Working part time has consistently been the top choice for women with at least one child under the age of 18 in the three years that the question was asked.

According to Pew Research, 47% of moms would like to work part-time. Are you one of those moms? Maybe you are and you don’t know how to start making that happen. Maybe you’re already working part-time and would like to talk to other moms in the same situation, going through something similar at work or at home.

In her book Mompowerment: Insights from Successful Professional Part-time Working Moms Who Balance Career and Family (due out in late September 2017) Suzanne interviewed 100+ moms who work part-time.  She felt this should be based on many stories and many approaches to being a part-time working mom, not only her perspective. The book allows, Suzanne, to share the collective advice, insights, and even solutions to challenges, to help other moms consider another career option. The idea is to help moms be successful in their part-time work situation.

Suzanne Brown is a strategic marketing and business consultant, TEDx speaker, thought provoker, author, and advocate for, and expert on, professional part-time working moms.
