Former Trump Lawyer Calls FBI Counterintelligence Probe ‘A Coup’

Since Trump announced that he would be running for president in 2016, the Democrats as a whole have tried everything they can to boot him out of office. Reports from the NewYork Times revealed last week that the FBI opened an investigation into Trump, claiming they believed he is working for the Russian government.
In an interview with Fox News, one of President Donald Trump’s former lawyers for the Russia probe is accusing former FBI officials of staging a “coup” by opening a counterintelligence investigation into whether Trump acted as a foreign agent of Russia.
It is worthy to note that this investigation was separate from the Mueller probe. Logic would point out that Mueller hasn’t used any of the findings that the FBI reported, proving that there was no evidence that Trump was employed by Russia.
As a matter-of-fact, many experts claim that the NYTimes report shows just how vindictive the FBI really is. According to The Times, the FBI opened the probe because Trump fired Comey. Then, “Trump’s behavior was very suspicious,” The Times wrote.
“This is our worst nightmare that someone with that kind of power would then decide to go after the president. I mean it’s a coup,” John Dowd told Fox’s Brian Kilmeade in an epic radio interview Monday.
“That’s what it is an attempted coup by Comey and his crowd,” he said. “And the evidence is all over there. I take The New York Times article as an admission of their bad behavior.”
Interestingly, Dowd, who represented Trump from June 2017 until his resignation on March 22, 2018, was responding to a Times report from Friday that the FBI opened the investigation into Trump in the eight-day window in May 2017 between the firing of James Comey as FBI director and the appointment of Robert Mueller as special counsel.
“Little did I know that it appears that they were all in it together,” Dowd said. “I mean Rosenstein, Comey, Mueller, McCabe, the whole crowd and they were out to get this president no matter what. I don’t think they sincerely believed anything about Russia.”
President Trump has repeatedly denied working for the Russian government.“I never worked for Russia,” the president told reporters this morning at the White House calling the investigation a ‘hoax.’
Factually, Trump went on to say, “The people that started that investigation are [Andrew] McCabe who is a proven liar and was fired from the FBI.”
Honestly, many Americans no longer trust the FBI because of their handling of Trump. It doesn’t help matters that James Comey, then FBI director, completely let Hillary Clinton off the hook for using an unsecured email server to send and receive classified documents during her tenure as secretary of state.
If anything, the NYTimes article proves the FBI’s motives to overthrow the Trump presidency.
