Women’s March has canceled its planned “Kick Out the Clowns” protests in Minnesota after the fatal shooting of Democratic state representative Melissa Hortman and her husband.
State Senator John Hoffman and his spouse were also shot and wounded.
“In light of the devastating attack that claimed the life of Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, we are canceling all remaining ‘Kick Out the Clowns’ events in Minnesota as law enforcement continues the search for the suspect,” said Rachel O’Leary Carmona, executive director of Women’s March in a statement.
“Our deepest condolences go out to the families of Rep. Hortman and the other victims, and to the communities who are grieving this horrific act of violence. We are heartbroken and outraged by this targeting of public servants and their loved ones,” she added.
She said the organizations stands “firmly in our commitment to prioritizing the safety of protesters and ensuring that actions nationwide move forward peacefully and with care for our communities.”

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
