Bridgewater Associated founder Ray Dalio, and his wife, Barbara, will contribute to more than 300,000 Trump accounts, becoming the latest billionaires to make contributions to the plan.
Trump accounts are part of a Treasury Department initiative to create investment accounts for young Americans. Dalio and his wife plan to contribute $250 to about 300,000 accounts, The Hill reported.
Their contributions follow those of Michael Dell and his wife, Susan, who pledged billions this month to give $250 to many of the accounts.
“At an early age, I was exposed to the stock market, and it changed my life. By providing children with savings accounts that compound over time, we are providing them with early insights into financial literacy and a path towards financial independence,” Dalio said in a statement.
The Trump accounts initially began with $1,000 each from the Treasury.
