Some 4,000 law enforcement officers will be mobilized on Wednesday June 18 and Thursday June 19, during nationwide control operations in railway stations and buses against illegal immigration, the French Minister of the Interior announced on Wednesday.
“In these forty-eight hours, we’re going to mobilize 4,000 gendarmes, police officers, customs officers, Sentinel forces to stop illegal immigrants,” Bruno Retailleau detailed on reactionary (LOL) media Cnews and Europe 1. “Since the beginning of the year, we have stopped 47,000 of them,” said the minister, who has made the fight against immigration his favorite theme.
In a memo addressed to prefects in particular, consulted by Agence France-Presse (AFP), the interior minister gave instructions for a nationwide operation to control “trains bound for neighboring countries and major French cities, both arriving and departing”.
In this document, the French Minister of the Interior, who is also the leader of the Republican party, boasted of a “significant increase in interceptions of ESI [illegal aliens] in recent weeks (+28%)” and a “national flow control operation” carried out on May 20 and 21, which resulted in more than 750 arrests.
On Wednesday, the Minister of the Interior declared that he had “reintroduced much tighter border controls than before”, with a “border force” made up of police, gendarmes, customs officers and military personnel. “What I want to say is that illegal immigrants are not welcome in France, in the firmest and most definitive way”, he insisted.
