Kristen Etheridge is no stranger to tragedy. Born in Texas, she has lived through several hurricanes and tropical storms in the Galveston area. Her books all center around a beach representative of Galveston beaches, but her Hurricane Hope series actually focuses on some of her experiences living through hurricanes.
One of the most interesting stories she told me was of the resident psychic who lived in her town. When everyone was still hanging around because the storm wasn’t supposed to hit them, the psychic had boarded up her business and was gone. That was enough for Kristen and made a great detail in her story.
She thought that living through Hurricane Ike was going to be her toughest experience, but earlier this year she was hit by a teen who was texting and driving. This caused Traumatic Brain Injury and has changed her life. On bad days, she has trouble finding the words she wants to say, but that hasn’t stopped her from writing. In fact, she says there are two types of people – those who succumb to tragedy and those who overcome. She has decided to overcome and she loves to interweave that inspirational theme into her books.
Recently, she went through a stem cell process. The difference it has made in her life is amazing, and she hopes more people will get to experience the growth she has.
In addition to her Inspirational Romance series, she also has a memoir of her experience living through Hurricane Ike and her novella is in the Kindle World launch of the First Street Church Kindle World.
She also has a Christmas anthology planned, which I guarantee you will not want to miss.
