A Tsunami Watch is in effect for California, the Coast from the Cal/Mexico Boarder to the Oregon/Cal Border including the San Francisco Bay. Updates will be provided as soon as we have them

Tsunami watch in effect for coastal areas of Washington & Oregon. First waves may reach Neah Bay by 455 AM PST. Further updates can be found at http://tsunami.gov  or NOAA weather radio. This is the result of an estimated M8.0 quake 175mi SE Kodiak City, Alaska.

A tsunami Watch is now in effect which includes the coastal areas of California, Oregon and Washington from The Cal./Mexico Border to The Wash./BC Border . – Event details: Preliminary magnitude 8.0 (Mwp) earthquake / Lat: 55.955, Lon: -149.227 at 2018-01-23T09:31:41 UTC Tsunami watches are an advance notice to areas that could be impacted by a tsunami at a later time. Watch areas may be upgraded to warning or advisory status, or canceled, based on new information or analysis. People in a watch area should closely follow subsequent tsunami messages.
