And The World Will Live As One

And The World Will Live As One

I don’t know if I have made this anymore obvious in TLB Talk, Giving our Children a Voice, but but I really love K-Dramas! I also really love K-pop, especially The Stray Kids. To be completely honest with you, I don’t think I would have ever actually figured out that there were other people on this planet if I hadn’t sprained my foot.

Because I did sprain my foot, I was told by my doctors that I had to completely keep my weight off of it, therefore all I could do was stay in bed. Staying in bed had me so bored I would’ve gone insane, because of the boredom, but as I was scrolling through YouTube on my TV, I came upon YouTube shorts. While going through the various shorts, I saw this short one called “My Top Five Favorite K-Pop Songs, and the fourth one was “Maniac” by this group called “Stray Kids!”

When I heard Felix’s voice I was like “I need to check this guy out! So, I did! And then I was like “OK, there are eight guys, they all look alike, and I can’t tell which one’s which!” But there ARE eight guys! I had to figure this out!

I initially thought that I could learn about these guys by watching a string of interviews. Well, that didn’t work! Soooo, I went to their YouTube channel, and I learned that they had lots of songs there with titles like “Skz-Talker,” and “2 kids In a Room.” It took me two months before I could even correctly tell them apart and by that time I just liked them!

And THAT’S how I became a “Stay.” (A Stay is the nickname for Stray Kids fan.)

Let me tell you about the members.

Banchan

Chan is the oldest member in stray kids and he is the leader. Also the producer, vocalist, dancer and rapper. He grew up in Australia and moved to South Korea in 2011 to become a K-pop star. He spent 7 years as a trainee before becoming one. In my opinion that’s a lot of years, and a massive amount of patience, but being in entertainment, myself I’m constantly reminded that, in the words of some old movie, “This is the business we’ve chosen!” Chan obviously keeps his eye on the prize, and I’m glad he did because I love his music!

Lee Know

Lee Know is the second oldest of the stray kids. He is the dance leader because obviously he’s “got da moves,” but he also is a vocalist and rapper. He became a trainee on July 15, 2017, and debuted as a member of stray kids on March 15, 2018.

Changbin

Changbin is the third oldest of stray kids. He is a rapper, vocalist and producer. He’s also buff and strong and has extremely huge muscles. Uh, yeah! Now, where was I?

Hyunjin

Hyunjin is the fourth oldest, and he is the visual ‘cause he’s so hot (You cannot disagree, I mean look at him!) He’s also a dancer rapper and vocalist. And hot. Did I say, “Hot?” I digress.

Han Jisung

Han Jisung is the fourth youngest. He is a rapper, vocalist and producer. And he is extremely hilarious, the many Stray edits I see of him always make me laugh.

Felix

Felix is the third youngest, he is from Australia, but he, too also moved to South Korea to become a K-pop star at 17. He is a dancer, rapper, vocalist and sunshine (‘cause he’s the brightest and will make you smile ear to ear).

Seungmim

Seungmim is second youngest. He’s a vocalist. His vocals are literally sooooooo pretty. He said during one of his postings that if he wasn’t a Stray Kid he’d be a photographer or producer.

I.N.

I.N. Is the youngest member, he is the vocalist and maknae and the baby bread.

The world of entertainment is complex. What tickles someone’s fancy can raise the ire of someone else. Being a part of this, I know all too well the pitfalls that can lead to misunderstanding. Of course, anyone who ventures into “show business” does so to become successful. Become well known. Be a star. But the base line is to entertain. To say, sing, write, or act something that will strike a chord with at least someone who has been there, done that, but just can’t articulate it. So, they are “entertained” by someone who can!

From the Beatles to The Stray Kids. The music may be different, but the song remains the same. Each generation has its own smiles, its own understanding of this thing called, “Life.” Be it the music of eight guys from South Korea, or four guys from Liverpool, every now and then the lights go on, the amps power up, and in the words from long ago …

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
