Axios Report: Wide Open Border ‘More Fortified Than Ever’
It’s a ‘Conservative Myth’ that the southern border is insecure. ~Axios

.
An Axios report has called the open southern U.S. border a conservative “myth” and declares that “the southern border is more fortified than it’s ever been.”
.
By using the term “open border,” conservatives are suggesting that anyone can get into the U.S. without much hassle. But the reality is the southern border is more fortified than it’s ever been.
Axios Explains: The myth of a U.S.-Mexico “open border”
https://t.co/JXgQs4R7M2— Axios (@axios) October 17, 2023
The article states that “By using the term “‘open border,’ conservatives — including Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, who is seeking the role of House speaker — are suggesting that anyone can get into the U.S. without much hassle.”
There are at least 1.6 million people who did just that in the past three years. 1,260 of them are statistically potential terrorists:
The Axios piece also claims that their “review of news stories found that the “open border” language took off during the Obama administration as conservatives worked to thwart planned immigration reform.”
So they Googled ‘open border’ and did a journalism.
Reporter Bill Melugin, who has been stationed on the frontline at the border for years now, slammed the report, noting that Axios failed to even speak to any Border Patrol agents or take into account the testimony of CBP heads warning that the border is not secure.
.@RussContreras how do you write this ridiculous article without even speaking to anyone from Border Patrol, CBP, or DHS? Your only quote is from the Cato Institute, & you don’t even acknowledge Congressional testimony from Border Patrol leadership that the border is not secure.

This ratio isn’t a myth, tho.
Meanwhile, in reality:

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
