China hosts Arab, Muslim officials calling for an end to Gaza-Israel war
A delegation from several Arab and Islamic countries has set off on a tour to meet officials from each of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council

China hosted a delegation of foreign ministers and other officials from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Indonesia, Palestine, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on 20 November for talks aimed at finding a solution to end the war in the Gaza Strip.
(Photo Credit: Chinese MFA)“We are here to send a clear signal: that is, we must immediately stop the fighting and the killings; we must immediately deliver humanitarian supplies to Gaza,” Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud said from Beijing.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi welcomed the delegation and told the visiting diplomats that his country could see that “a humanitarian disaster is unfolding in Gaza.”

“The situation in Gaza affects all countries around the world, questioning the human sense of right and wrong and humanity’s bottom line,” Yi said before urging other nations to “act urgently” to prevent the violence from spreading.
“China firmly stands with justice and fairness in this conflict,” the senior Chinese official stressed. “We are willing to work together with our brothers and sisters in Arab and Islamic countries to make unremitting efforts to settle the war in Gaza as soon as possible,” he added.
In comments posted on social media, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said:
“We look forward to a stronger role on the part of great powers such as China in order to stop the attacks against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Unfortunately, there are major countries that give cover to the current Israeli attacks.”
For his part, Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki stressed that Israel seeks to “bring to an end the Palestinian people’s presence on what remains of its historical land.”
The tour by Arab and Islamic officials was launched as the death toll from Israel’s ethnic cleansing campaign in the Gaza Strip has reached 13,000 victims – more than half of whom are women and children.
Women and children also make up 75 percent of the more than 30,000 injuries reported in the besieged enclave since 7 October. Furthermore, officials in Gaza say at least 6,000 people remain missing, with most of them suspected of lying under the rubble of buildings destroyed by Israeli jets and tanks.
