Danielle Smith Orders Justice Minister to Draft Law Protecting the Unvaccinated from Discrimination

EDMONTON, Alberta (LifeSiteNews) – Alberta Premier Danielle Smith has made good on a promise to offer legal protections to those who choose not to get the COVID jabs by recently ordering her province’s minister of justice to draft a law prohibiting “discrimination” based solely on one’s injection status.  

In a letter dated November 9, 2022, written to Justice Minister Tyler Shandro, Smith in clear terms told him to “Take any necessary legislative or regulatory steps to prohibit discrimination on the basis of COVID-19 vaccination and/or booster status.”  

Smith also ordered Shandro, who used to serve as the province’s health minister, to make sure he “stands” up for the rights of Albertans. 

“The direction I have given to our ministers sends a clear signal that the Alberta government will stand up for Albertans and vigorously defend our ability to develop our resources and economy,” said Smith.  

Last week, Smith sent out multiple “mandate letters” to many of her ministers, which focus on making sure, as she put it, that “unconstitutional federal government overreach into areas of provincial jurisdiction” comes to a stop.  

“With these mandates, Albertans can be confident they have a government focused on standing up for them, building and diversifying our economy, and putting a stop to hostile federal economic policies that landlock our resources and harm the short-term and long-term prosperity of Albertans,” said Smith.  

Smith, in her mandate letter to Shandro, also ordered him to ensure that legal gun owners’ rights are protected from a federal gun grab, which many provinces have fought back on, as well as to protect Alberta’s oil and gas industry.

Smith initially promised that she would be amending the province’s human rights code to make it illegal to discriminate against a person because of his or her vaccine status on the day she became premier last month.  

At the time, Smith vowed that, unlike her predecessor Jason Kenney, she was not going to “create a segregated society on the basis of a medical choice.” 

Under Kenney, thousands lost their jobs or were placed on leave without pay, including many public service workers in healthcare, because they chose not to get the COVID injections. 

Since then, many have been fighting back against the imposition of workplace jab mandates, including a group of vaccine-free Calgary Firefighters, as well as a 176-strong group of WestJet airline workers. 

During this first month of her premiership, Smith seems to have made fighting back against the mainstream political COVID narrative a top priority.

Indeed, Smith recently noted that some of her medical advisors have reached out to former Trump administration adviser Dr. Paul Alexander, an epidemiologist known for his strong criticism of COVID injections and government lockdowns.  

Smith has also apologized to all the vaccine-free Albertans who were “discriminated” against during the COVID-19 so-called pandemic, while later mentioning she is working to pardon those who were fined under Kenney’s COVID-era legislation, particularly pastors. 

In 2021, the province of Alberta under Kenney passed Bill 66, which repealed a long-standing vaccinations section of the province’s Public Health Act that in theory could be used to force jabs on everyone in the province.  

Parts of the bill however were panned by the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF), who warned that they could give the government dangerous new powers by entrenching the “authoritarianism of the Chief Medical Officer of Health.”  

While governments in Canada and around the world continue to push the experimental COVID vaccines, the body of evidence that these novel shots were neither as safe nor as effective as they were touted continues to grow.

Recent autopsy data shows a close association between the COVID mRNA jabs and heart inflammation, more so than between heart issues and the COVID virus itself. 

According to two recent medical studies from Europe, vaccine-induced blood damage may explain the many harmful impacts of the COVID shots, which now include myocarditis, pericarditis, and dangerous blood clots among other adverse effects.
