Enraged Virginia Democrats Storm Out of Chamber During Pastor’s Prayer
By Todd Starnes
There’s no doubt that Pastor Robert Grant, Jr. delivered a stemwinder of a prayer during the opening session of the Virginia House of Delegates.
But when his prayer condemned abortion and defended traditional marriage – it was more than Democrats could stomach. Watch below.
Many lawmakers (including some Republicans) walked out of the chamber – one of them shouted, “Is this a prayer or a sermon?”
Speaker Eileen Filler-Corn, also a Democrat, brought down the gavel as the pastor continued to pray — and directed lawmakers to begin reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
“It was totally disrespectful to all of us, all of us in this House,” Del. Luke Torian, a Democrat, told FauquierNow.com.
“In many ways it felt like condemnation,” Del. Delores McQuinn told the newspaper.
Pastor Grant had every right to call out lawmakers who were defending the killing of unborn and newly born babies. Infanticide is a crime — and a sin against God.
“I think that the statehouse belongs to all the citizens. And all the citizens have a voice,” Grant told the Virginia Mercury. “If it’s my turn to have a voice, and I am a pastor, what do you expect from me? If you don’t want to hear what a pastor has to say, then don’t invite one.”
Amen, pastor. Preach it!

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
