Establishment Media Whines About Injunction To Stop Biden Censorship Via Big Tech
US State Department has already put on hold its scheduled meetings with Facebook
Steve Watson
The corporate media spent a large chunk of Wednesday complaining about how a Federal Judge issued an injunction to put a stop to the Biden Administration acting like an “Orwellian Ministry Of Truth” by colluding with big tech to censor opinions it doesn’t like.
Here’s the story. The judge described the situation as being “dystopian”:
This ruling is so vital. The first to:
1) acknowledge the systemic program of the US Govt to pressure/coerce Big Tech to censor for it;
2) apply established 1st Am principles that the state is barred from pressuring private actors to censor for it;
3) banned its continuation: https://t.co/m5lXYheywU

And here’s how the media responded:
Had to copy edit the misleading NY Times subhed on the new court ruling to ensure this article is all the news that’s fit to print.

NYT, CNN: Americans shouldn’t be allowed to communicate & exchange information unless the Biden Admin explicitly permits that topic of conversation https://t.co/qPOMz18E91

MSNBC is already arguing the Biden Admin can still censor content that “undermines” our “faith” in U.S. elections as that’s a “national security issue” pic.twitter.com/K9yNQvRNMv

Nobody was asking to know this blogger’s source. Nobody cared.
Like Reilly, she had deranged fantasies she was part of FBI. She had nothing.
That this was cheered (by CNN, too) shows the subservience to CIA/FBI now venerated and demanded.

Imagine deciding you want to be a “journalist” — this is what you want to do with your life — and then you become a leading advocate for the need for state and corporate power to be united to censor citizens on the internet.
Just go work for the FBI:https://t.co/wpQn2aYW3M

Reilly: “Not a lot of evidence” the @FBI was asking Twitter “to take down posts” pic.twitter.com/TSpD37ZQG9

In fact, Ryan, there’s a smorgasbord of evidence:
1) It was the FBI’s Jim Baker, then working at Twitter, who demanded Twitter censor the Hunter Biden story, which the FBI had already established was true
2) The FBI made so many content moderation requests at Twitter that… https://t.co/aEf7RcZVk2— Tom Elliott (@tomselliott) July 5, 2023
Remember when this was all just another ‘conspiracy theory?’
As always, establishment liberals and their media allies went from:
“This DHS/CIA/FBI censorship scheme isn’t happening; it’s a giant right-wing conspiracy theory” to:
“Yes, it’s happening, and it should. We need this censorship.”https://t.co/sEiMuIIznx

The immediate fall out from the judge’s ruling is that the US State Department has already put on hold its scheduled meetings with Facebook, pertaining to discussions on 2024 election “safeguards.”
Experts said yesterday’s anti-censorship court ruling was too badly written to be implemented, but it’s already working. The State Department today canceled its regular Wednesday meeting with Facebook, and all future meetings, “pending further guidance.”https://t.co/5ZKMdXUEPU

The Biden Administration has said that it ‘disagrees’ with the ruling and has filed an appeal against the injunction to the Fifth Circuit.
“On the White House contact with social media companies, does the White House have a response to the judge basically saying that this is the most massive attack on free speech in the U.S. history?”

BIDEN: “Do you disagree with the judge’s ruling that this coordination was a form of censorship that specifically targeted Conservative speech?”

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
