Former Trump lawyer: There is a strong case for disqualification of hush money trial judge
Judge Merchan has refused to recuse himself from the case.
By
Former Trump campaign attorney Jesse Binnall says the hush money trial for the 45th president has a very strong case for the judge to be dismissed.
“This is one of the strongest cases I’ve ever seen for disqualification of a judge who should have recused himself,” he said on the Tuesday edition of the “Just the News, No Noise” TV show. “Especially here where you have a judge that has actually donated to the political opponent of a candidate.”
Trump demanded New York Judge Juan Merchan be recused from his criminal trial, arguing that his daughter worked for a Democratic consultant and has represented politicians such as Vice President Kamala Harris.

Merchan repeatedly refused to recuse himself from the case.
“For just this reason, almost every other judge that I’ve ever known does not donate to political candidates or causes, because they don’t want to get wrapped up in a situation just like this,” Binnall said in reference to Merchan. “So this shows poor judgment for him for even donating to a campaign when he’s when he’s on the bench.”
Trump is accused of falsifying business records in the hush money case involving porn star Stormy Daniels.
The trial for the hush money case formally began on Monday, which made Trump the first former president to stand trial for an alleged crime.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
