Fourth senior Tory official investigated in UK election betting scandal – Yet Much More Looms

.

ER Editor:  A record number of UK Conservative MPs are expected to stand down at the next election, called for July 4. Information on this in terms of numbers only can be found here. Most of the ‘independent’ MPs standing down (9) were elected as Tories. The figures for Conservative (75), Labour (34) and Independent (9) have held pretty steady for the past three weeks or so.

A reminder that indy media figure David Mahoney reported that during July 2022, over 50 FBI agents (yes, American) were seen in the Houses of Parliament, with a similar number of MPs being arrested. All anecdotal with no proof as yet. We’re keeping eyes on this, and are wondering about the nature of the offences. Politico.eu reports on an aspect of this below, a relatively low-profile scandal involving bets being placed on the timing of the UK election. So far this seems to be affecting prospective Tory candidates and party officials as opposed to sitting MPs.

We have been seeing an uptick in the reporting of legitimate scandals over the last 1-2 years. Just an impression but it would appear somebody is airing the dirty laundry across the political spectrum. We have in mind, of course, Qatargate. Recall the relatively low-level accusations that brought down Sebastian Kurtz, former Young Global Leader and Chancellor of Austria. Many other political figures have gone for no apparent reason at all.

The Politico report below is a follow-on from this report of June 20 —

Betting scandal engulfs UK election

Multiple Conservative candidates and figures close to the British prime minister are being investigated over alleged bets on the timing of the U.K.’s general election, in the most jaw-dropping moment of the race for No. 10 Downing Street so far.

It’s a huge headache for a Conservative Party that is already facing electoral annihilation — and an open goal for the opposition Labour Party that hopes to replace them.

But the affair has much potential for what campaign experts call “cut through,” a moment that resonates profoundly with a public that may not usually pay much attention to politics.

One of the dominant features of British politics in the two decades is profound mistrust of politicians — and a sense that those who set the rules do not themselves abide by them.

Britain’s 2009 parliamentary expenses scandal saw revelation after revelation of lawmakers helping themselves to taxpayer cash.

That mistrust was amplified by the recent “Partygate” scandal, when Boris Johnson’s Downing Street carried on partying through the Covid lockdown even as the rest of the public were ordered to stay home.

What about ministers and MPs having opened their own businesses to ride on the back of the anticipated Covid plandemic, taking taxpayer money in the process? What about treason-related offences due to supporting Israel at every touch and turn? And pedophilia, child-trafficking, organ harvesting and adrenochrome-related activities? Andrew Bridgen put out a disturbing tweet 3 days ago with as yet few details. He would seem to be at the forefront of yet another government scandal, in addition to the Covid shots —

Could reckoning time for these contemptible low-lifes, paid for with our STOLEN tax money, finally be here?

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
