ER Editor: The regional and departmental elections in France are typically used as a stick to beat the government of the day, which would be Macron’s crowd, but things didn’t turn out as expected yesterday. Instead, heaps of people – at least two-thirds – simply didn’t bother to vote, which has put the cat among the pigeons among the chattering Paris classes. Calls on Twitter from Macron’s party and Le Pen’s team have called overnight for voting being made COMPULSORY. They just don’t get it.
Macron’s crew have locked the French down, lied through their teeth on MSM, hidden real cures for Covid, crashed the economy and individual’s lives, while rushing people, AND NOW CHILDREN, toward untested, dangerous gene therapies. This in a vaccine-hesitant country. NOBODY in the established political parties, which includes Le Pen, has stood up for the citizenry against the tyrannical madness of the past 16 months, except for Florian Philippot, Le Pen’s former deputy. Besides which, Macron has neoliberalized sections of society include the employment sector, and is about to take aim at French pensions. He’s a former Rothschild employee, as are quite a few French presidents.

Politicians who spend their time giving moral lessons to the whole world and instrumentalizing the work of our colleagues are no longer chosen by a tiny handful of politicized French people who still go to the polling booth.
Despite the disgust they inspire, politicians continue to cling to their privileges. No self-criticism, no questioning. Always the same faces, again and again.

Regional and departmental elections: abstention beats records
At 8:00 pm, abstention for the regional elections reached between 66.1% and 68.6% according to polling institute estimates. This is a record abstention rate for all elections in France, excluding referendums.

A figure that remains unsurprising because of the pre-election forecasts. Throughout the day, the turnout figures did not augur well. At 5pm, the participation was established at 26.72% in metropolitan France, in free fall compared to the regional elections of December 2015 (43.01%) and the departmentals of March 2015 (42.75%), according to the figures of the Ministry of the Interior. At noon, it stood at only 12.22%.
“The level of abstention is particularly worrying,” Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said in a tweet shortly after the polls closed. “Our collective work must be turned towards mobilizing the French for the second round,” he added. (ER: Darmanin is the tone deaf hypocrite of a minister who recently scolded the public for their understandable anger when the great and good were seen hobnobbing beyond curfew time at tennis tournament Roland Garros. He claimed the public should be happy for these people…)
Late opening, lack of assessors: a disrupted vote in several polling stations
Several problems marked the vote. In Marseille, voters in 34 polling stations, according to the prefecture, found the door closed at 8am due to a lack of assessors. A dozen polling stations could not open until 11 am, according to the city hall. The shortage of assessors has also been noted in other regions and cities in France, such as Saint-Etienne. This problem has also been noted in Reunion Island.
In Cousolre in the North, it is another problem that has been raised: that of a shortage of ballots for the list of union of the left and ecologists.
