Fulton DA slams Rep. Greene for filing complaint against her for criminal misconduct

Greene filed a complaint against Willis for alleged criminal misconduct over improper relationship accusations

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis on Sunday slammed Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene as being “filled with hate,” after the Georgia Republican congresswoman called for the Georgia state attorney general to investigate allegations that Willis had an improper relationship with the special prosecutor hired to go after former President Donald Trump.

“Dear God, I don’t want to be like those who attack me. I never want to be a Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has never met me but has allowed her spirit to be filled with hate,” Willis told the congregation of Atlanta’s Big Bethel AME church on Sunday.

“How does this woman, who has the honor of being a leader in my state, how is it that she has not reached out to me?” she asked.

Willis’ comments were the first since she was accused last week of hiring her alleged romantic partner, private attorney Nathan Wade, as special prosecutor of Trump in the 2020 election case that resulted in indictments against 19 people. Wade was paid more than $650,000 in legal fees from January 2022 through December 2023, and he took Willis on luxury global vacations during this time, according to a motion to dismiss filed by Trump co-defendant Mike Roman.

Greene filed a complaint Wednesday with Georgia Republican Gov. Brian Kemp and Attorney General Chris Carr against Willis for alleged criminal misconduct over the district attorney’s personnel decisions.

Separately, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, said his panel will investigate the allegations.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
