Hunter Probe: IRS Whistleblower Confirms the ‘Big Guy’ Was Off-Limits

An IRS whistleblower has revealed that investigators tasked with the Hunter Biden probe were prohibited from asking questions about his father, current President Joe Biden.

“We weren’t allowed to ask questions about dad, we weren’t allowed to ask about the big guy, we weren’t allowed to include certain names in document requests and search warrants,” IRS Special Agent Gary Shapley said. “So, we were precluded from following that line of questioning.”

“We were trying to follow the normal process, we were trying to get to the bottom of it,” Shapley told Baier. “Ultimately, if it was going to lead to another individual, we should follow that to determine what is happening, but there were definitely hindrances I have never seen in my 14 years concerning this investigation that didn’t allow us to follow through the investigation of any other individual to involve President Biden.”

The House Ways and Means Committee released deposition transcripts from IRS whistleblowers, including Shapley, who accused Attorney General Merrick Garland and IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel of providing false information to Congress regarding the Hunter Biden investigation.

“When prosecutors don’t allow you to put the subject’s name on document requests or on search warrants, then it raises the possibility there is more information we did not find, but based on the financial records we did find, they’ve been analyzed and it was around 8.3 million received,” Shapley added.

On June 20, the Justice Department announced that Biden would plead guilty to two misdemeanor tax charges, while a felony charge related to providing false information when purchasing a firearm would be addressed through a pre-trial diversion program following an investigation by U.S. Attorney David Weiss.

There is more evidence surfacing of investigative irregularities in the handling of the Hunter Biden case. A former business partner of Hunter and James Biden, who was involved in a 2017 Chinese energy deal, was never called to testify before a Delaware grand jury investigating Hunter Biden. The information was disclosed by sources to CBS News’ investigative reporter Catherine Herridge.

The former partner, Tony Bobulinski, expressed his willingness to testify, but his attorney’s attempts to reach out to Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss went unanswered, the report said. This decision not to involve Bobulinski suggests that prosecutors deliberately avoided investigating certain allegations involving President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.

“I’ve heard Joe Biden say that he’s never discussed business with Hunter. That is false. I have firsthand knowledge about this because I directly dealt with the Biden family, including Joe Biden,” Bobulinski said at the press conference.

Bobulinski’s claims have generated renewed interest among Republican congressional investigators following closed-door testimony from IRS whistleblowers to the House Ways and Means Committee. The whistleblowers alleged that Hunter Biden received preferential treatment that hindered federal investigators.

As reported by the New York Times, the Department of Justice (DOJ) hindered United States Attorney David Weiss from pursuing harsher charges against Hunter Biden in both Washington, DC, and California. This information corroborates the claims made by IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley and Hunter Biden witness Tony Bobulinski.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
