Latest Dirty Trick, in the Hunter Biden Probe

Attorney General Merrick Garland on Friday appointed David Weiss to be the Special Counsel in the Hunter Biden investigation, drawing condemnation from Republicans that accused the Department of Justice of orchestrating a cover-up of the Biden family’s scandalous exchange of political influence for foreign payments.

Weiss has been tasked with the “ongoing investigation” into the illicit activities of the president’s son “as well as any additional issues stemming from that inquiry,” according to a statement from the Justice Department. Already in charge of the Hunter Biden investigation and stationed in Delaware, Weiss requested to be designated as special counsel. The attorney general believed it was “in the public interest” to grant this request.

David Weiss is the prosecuting attorney at the Department of Justice responsible for overseeing the “sweetheart” plea deal that was blown up in court in late July.

Shortly after the plea deal fell apart, members of Weiss’s team disclosed in a legal document that discussions about tax and gun-related charges against the president’s son had not been successful. As a result, it seems likely that the case will proceed to trial, either in California or Washington, D.C.

House Republicans are crying foul after acquiring mounting evidence that the Biden family was engaged in a complicated enterprise involving shell companies and offshore bank accounts to trade Joe Biden’s political influence for tens of millions of dollars in foreign payments.

“This action by Biden’s DOJ cannot be used to obstruct congressional investigations or whitewash the Biden family corruption,” he tweeted. “If Weiss negotiated the sweetheart deal that couldn’t get approved, how can he be trusted as a Special Counsel? House Republicans will continue to pursue the facts for the American people.”

Merrick Garland, on the other hand, claimed that the Special Counsel appointment displayed “independence and accountability.”

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) blasted the move by pointing out Weiss’ dubious track record as a prosecutor in the Hunter Biden case.

“The question is, who are you going to believe?” Jordan asked during a hearing on the probe’s updates. “I had discussions with departmental officials. Mr. Weiss can’t get his story straight.”

“Three different stories in a five-week time frame. On June 7th, he’s Tarzan, he’s super, I got ultimate authority, ‘I can do what I want. File charges where I want, when I want, and how I want.’” Jordan remarked.

Obviously, Davis Weiss has since changed his tune. But the question now is how the Republicans are going to respond to the clear obstruction of justice.

Conservative pundits are crying out for the Republicans to ‘do something’ besides issue strongly worded letters. The first order of business is impeaching Merrick Garland.

The path forward for the Republicans from here is uncertain, but will undoubtedly require impeachment proceedings against Garland, Biden, or both to deepen a truly independent probe.
