MTG sounds off on Israel as ‘America first’ backers question support for conflict
“I sincerely hope Republicans, out on August recess right now, will return in September with a renewed focus to stop funding foreign wars and stop waging the fiscal war against my children and their entire generation” ~Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., gave her most pointed criticism of American support for Israel yet as she and other believers in the “America First” movement grow increasingly disillusioned with the American commitment to the nuclear-armed, secular nation.
Greene specifically took exception to the recent deaths of Christians due to Israeli strikes on Gaza. The bombardment of the densely populated area has drawn furious condemnation from the international community, including the Catholic and Orthodox churches, whose houses of worship have been shelled.
“Yesterday I spoke to a Christian pastor from Gaza.
There are children starving.
And Christians have been killed and injured, as well as many innocent people,” she posted on X. “
If you are an American Christian, this should be absolutely unacceptable to you.
Just as we said that Hamas killing and kidnapping innocent people on Oct 7th is absolutely unacceptable.
Are innocent Israeli lives more valuable than innocent Palestinian and Christian lives?
And why should America continue funding this?”
“The secular government of nuclear armed Israel has proven that they are beyond capable of dealing with their enemies and are capable of and are in the process of systematically cleansing them from the land,” she added.
”
Most Americans that I know don’t hate Israel and we are not antisemitic at all.
We are beyond fed up with being told that we have to fix the world’s problems, pay for the world’s problems, and fight all the world’s wars while Americans are struggling to survive even though they work everyday.
And many of us, even though we are Christians, no longer want to fund and fight nuclear armed secular Israel’s wars especially when it leads to starving children and killing innocent people including Christians.
Of course we are against radical Islamic terrorism, but we are also against genocide.”
Greene’s use of the term “genocide” is particularly pointed as the American right has generally been hesitant to embrace the term for Israel’s occupation of the strip. But growing international designations of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conduct as such and scrutiny of Tel Aviv’s handling of the humanitarian situation has seen the country’s approval rating plummet, even in the U.S.
The Georgia Republican went on to condemn American leadership for refusing to address domestic problems that she said were more important to the younger generations of Americans than foreign conflicts.
“I sincerely hope Republicans, out on August recess right now, will return in September with a renewed focus to stop funding foreign wars and stop waging the fiscal war against my children and their entire generation,” she went on.
Greene’s post speaks to a growing sentiment within MAGA ranks that the country is unduly deferential to the interests of Israel, with some even suggesting that Tel Aviv is manipulating America for its own benefit.
The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh, for instance, expressed incredulity on Thursday after Trump suggested Canada’s decision to recognize a Palestinian state might compromise trade negotiations with the U.S.
“This is ridiculous. If a trade deal with Canada is beneficial to the American people then it should go forward regardless of Canada’s stance on Palestine. The benefit of the American people should be the guiding principle here,” he wrote.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
