Physicians Being Trained With User-Friendly Guide To Deal With Anti-Vaccine Parents

Parents who wish to opt-out from mandatory vaccination schedules at their doctor’s office will soon be labeled as anti-vaccine parents in need of further enlightenment. The Clinician’s Guide to the Anti-Vaccinationists’ Galaxy,  published in the journal Human Immunology attempts to address and convince anti-vaccine parents that their misconceptions about vaccinations are based on myths.

In the limited time of an office visit, how can a primary care physician possibly make their case to parents that their child should be vaccinated? Especially with all the informed and educated parents who don’t want their children injected with known neurotoxins, immunotoxins, carcinogens and infertility chemicals, what is a doctor to do?

Well, a Mayo Clinic vaccine advocate and pediatrician (of course) offers suggestions for refuting what he considers three of the most common myths about vaccines.

Their article, The Clinician’s Guide to the Anti-Vaccinationists’ Galaxy, is published online in the journal Human Immunology.

“Primary care physicians have less time than most to explain the scientific case for vaccination. This article gives them the background and tools to debunk some of the major myths,” says lead author Gregory Poland, M.D., Mayo Clinic vaccinologist.

Dr. Poland and Mayo pediatrician Robert Jacobson, M.D., review the three vaccine-related misconceptions (or so they claim) that they say “fuel patient and parental concerns, questions and fears about vaccines.” Those claimed myths are:

– Babies’ systems aren’t ready for the number of vaccines given today.

– Vaccines can cause autoimmune diseases.

– Natural immunity is safer and better.

They explain that the number of active molecules in infant vaccines is far lower than ever before, so each child is receiving a fraction of actual antigen compared to children in the past.

So basically don’t worry about all of the other toxins in vaccines now that the actual antigen is reduced compared to previous vaccines. Your child is perfectly safe. Perhaps we should start contacting all the parents of vaccine-damaged children and let them know that the problem was not related to the reduced antigen composition in the vaccine formula. I’m sure that will provide them some comfort.

Three out of five FDA approved influenza vaccines had thimerosal for this past year’s flu season. Thimerosal is a known neurotoxin, yet according to these doctors, because the antigen is reduced, this somehow protects children, negates the thimerosal and makes the vaccine safe.

Among other biased evidence, they point to a recent review of 1,200 articles by the Institute of Medicine that failed to find any autoimmune side effect from vaccines. Oh, you mean the same Institute of Medicine that presents itself as a private entity while more than eighty percent of its budget comes from federal grants directly tied to contributions from the pharmaceutical industry? Margaret Hamburg, commissioner of the FDA, personally donated the Institute of Medicine more than $100,000 and we all know the FDA’s link to Big Pharma.

They also claim that there is either no impact or that any relation to autoimmune conditions is not causative. This is a ridiculous statement. Nothing in science can prove causation because science (especially biomedical science) is based on correlations and nothing more. We know vaccines are correlated with autism but not solely responsible for causation. We also know vaccines are correlated with autoimmune disorders and neurotoxicity of the brain but not solely responsible for causation. Does that mean we accept the use of vaccines because they are only correlated with disease and do not demonstrate causation? Of course not.

If we cut ourselves with very sharp objects we know we will likely bleed, so we make every attempt to refrain from getting very sharp objects close to our skin because we know they all have the potential to cut our skin. The only logical thought process is to stay away from all vaccines because we know they all contain at least some level of toxicity (i.e. heavy metals, preservatives, etc) which can harm us. There are no safe level of carcinogens or other toxins to be injected into the body.

They also insist that while natural immunity does protect as well, the risk of illness and death is far higher than with a vaccine.

So basically our natural immunity is inferior to artificial immunity? Do you realize how flawed that thinking is? Our respiratory tract contains secretory IgA, an antibody which initiates our immune response within the respiratory tract mucosa. Bypassing this mucosal aspect of the immune system by directly injecting organisms into the myovascular network leads to a corruption in the immune system itself. As a result, the pathogenic viruses or bacteria cannot be eliminated by the immune system and remain in the body, where they will further grow and/or mutate as the individual is exposed to ever more antigens and toxins in the environment which continue to assault the immune system. There is no such thing as immunization by vaccination.

This article then has the audacity to include a background on the anti-vaccine movement and outlines the so-called harm it has done by spreading inaccurate information.

“We want to offer a user-friendly guide for doctors, but also issue a call to action,” Dr. Poland says. “We can now show that children have died because of under-vaccination and that diseases have spread needlessly because of this trend.”

Perhaps they could produce the study that proves how diseases have spread because of under-vaccination. Such independent studies do not exist because they are impossible to prove from an objective position. Any studies that have attempted to make these correlations were all pharma industry funded.

What about polio paralysis, miscarriages, adverse reactions, more adverse effects and the hundreds of citations linking vaccines to disease? Surely the risks of vaccines far exceed any benefit claimed especially considering that Vaccines Did Not Save Us according to Two Centuries of Official Statistics.

Dr. Poland says lack of vaccination has put many children at risk for diseases that are avoidable, including whooping cough and measles. He emphasized that the risk of death for measles is three in 1,000 without vaccination, while the risk from the measles vaccination is zero. Not true. Reuters recently revealed that whooping cough outbreaks are HIGHER among vaccinated children compared with unvaccinated children, and the Institute of Medicine’s own report openly admits that MMR vaccines cause measles.

We only have to go to Dr. Poland’s associations with the pharmaceutical industry to see why he promotes such an incredible amount of misinformation regarding vaccines to parents. He is the chairman of an evaluation committee for investigational vaccine trials being conducted by Merck Research Laboratories. He offers consultative advice on new vaccine development to Merck & Co., Inc., Avianax, Theraclone Sciences (formally Spaltudaq Corporation), MedImmune LLC, Liquidia Technologies, Inc., Emergent BioSolutions, Novavax, Dynavax, EMD Serono, Inc., Novartis Vaccines and Therapeutics and PAXVAX, Inc.

The other author, Dr. Jacobson is a member of a review committee for a study funded by Merck & Co. concerning the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine. He is a member of a data monitoring committee for an investigational vaccine trial funded by Merck & Co. He is principal investigator for two studies, including one funded by Novartis International for its licensed meningococcal conjugate vaccine and one funded by Pfizer, Inc. for its licensed pneumococcal conjugate vaccine.

  1. Those poor docs!!! I’m so sorry they wasted all that money on all those years of school and residencies only to find they don’t read well enough or have enough understanding of human physiology to open a vaccine package insert, read it, understand it and make appropriate recommendations, on their own, for patients coming into their office! Fortunately, the parents do read it, understand it and make appropriate choices for themselves and their families!
Fortunately, also, many will bring a copy of those package inserts to their appointments to help coach the docs on their lessons.
Employers who train their employees are good employers. Employees who take training from their employers eventually make good employees. Don’t be surprised, docs, when your employers fire you if you refuse to accept training from your employers.
