“Thousands of Complaints” Against French Ministers Arrive at the Court of Justice

ER Editor: The significance of this is that these legal filings have been made at the only court in France that can prosecute high-ranking government people such as ministers and prime ministers. Alas, the report below doesn’t particularly specify what the themes of these complaints might be. But Dr. Salim Laibi who runs his own site, The Free Thinker (Le Libre Penseur), was understandably delighted to learn of these legal filings:

This is excellent news and this is exactly what we need to do everywhere, to file complaints in the criminal courts, in the administrative courts, not to mention the labour courts… in order to judicially harass all the offenders who trample the rule of law and the law.

The RT report below is rather dry, focusing on the need for reform of the Court and procedural matters. We doubt that it isn’t simply the phenomenon of the internet that has led to thousands of complaints against government ministers being received over disastrous management of the non-pandemic.

Ministers subject to complaint are the former PM Edouard Philippe, alas not the current one, Jean Castex. As well as the past and present health ministers, Agnes Buzyn and Olivier Veran. We hope the French justice system throws the book at them, but we rather doubt that it will happen. The French justice system is highly politicized.

Management of the pandemic: “thousands of complaints” arrive at the Court of Justice of the Republic

The public prosecutor at the Court of Cassation, François Molins, said that the Court of Justice of the Republic was the subject of “thousands of complaints”. He also mentioned the need to reform the procedure for referring cases to this institution.

“There are thousands of complaints that have arrived” at the Court of Justice of the Republic (CJR) concerning the government’s management of the Covid-19 crisis: this is what François Molins, Attorney General at the Court of Cassation, confided this September 5.

“It is a phenomenon that is new, certainly due to the development of modes of communication and the Internet, which affects the Court of Justice of the Republic. Indeed, there are thousands of complaints that are arriving,” said François Molins, former prosecutor of the Republic of Paris, in an interview broadcast on LCI at 20:30.

François Molins believes that the procedure for referring cases to the Court of Justice has “a number of structural defects”

The CJR, the only court empowered to prosecute and judge prime ministers, ministers and secretaries of state for crimes and misdemeanors committed “in the exercise of their functions”, then examines their admissibility.

“The same phenomenon [of massive complaints] exists at the level of the public health division (of the judicial court) of Paris […] It is a phenomenon that concerns the problem as a whole: the common law section or the ministerial section,” he added.

François Molins, also stressed “a fundamental problem” that affects the Court of Justice of the Republic. “We know that there are a certain number of reform projects concerning the Court of Justice of the Republic, I think that if there is a problem there, the model must evolve. There are a certain number of structural defects that affect this procedure today, it is up to the national will to seize it” he also developed.

A complaint against Jean Castex had already been rejected by the Court of Justice

The CJR, a court of exception that is half-political, half-judicial, often placed under fire, has been conducting an investigation since July 2020 concerning former Prime Minister Edouard Philippe, former Health Minister Agnes Buzyn and his successor Olivier Véran, for the management of Covid-19.

A collective of teachers also filed before it in March a complaint for “endangering the lives of others” against the Minister of National Education Jean-Michel Blanquer, accused of “not protecting staff in contact with children”, who “spread the virus” of Covid-19,

In November 2020, the CJR had ruled inadmissible the complaint of an association of victims of Covid-19 against Prime Minister Jean Castex. On July 16, it indicted the Minister of Justice Eric Dupond-Moretti for illegal interest, suspected of having taken advantage of his position to settle accounts with judges with whom he had had a run-in when he was a lawyer, which he refutes.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
