Time to buck up our ideas and stop selling weapons of death to homicidal cretins

Here’s a wild idea.  How about we stop manufacturing weapons of death and then selling them to every psychopath who wants to slaughter his fellow human beings?

With virtually every other industry we have either dead or on its uppers, there is something chillingly wrong or sadly desperate when our major export and our major contribution to human civilisation is the ingredients for nerve gas or white phosphorous – among the most sadistic methods of making human beings die in agony ever dreamed up by a depraved mind.

I am sure we are very good at making such things or designing and building missiles or tanks or whatever. Pretty damn good at it, judging by how many we sell but is this what we have become? Is it really beyond the wit of we Brits to think up other things we can become good at making and selling abroad? Or using to enhance our own lives?

Are we not better than mere whores to the horsemen of the apocalypse and are we really so feeble in our efforts to make our way in the world that we find ourselves with an economy that profits from and has a massive vested interest in human conflict, pain and misery? Is such a thing inevitable? Well, it probably is when your country has been chronically mismanaged and run  into the ground by criminals. But do we really have to put up with these oiks?

If we can design and build a really good tank or fighter plane or bazooka, can we really not design and build a really good bus, bike,  brick, box, bra, bat, bridge, bucket, biscuit or some such thing?

Really?

Oh, someone says, but if we don’t sell weapons of death to some loon in the Middle East or somewhere somebody else will do it.

But that’s like saying “I thought I might as well sell drugs on the streets because if I don’t do it, somebody else will.”

If we can entertain excuses of that kind, then as a nation we really have lost all pride and self respect.

One wonders too how many of the world’s conflicts would even be possible if we and the Americans were not selling the combatants the weapons with which to fight them – and, indeed, our banking cartels were not lending them the money with which to buy those weapons.

So my wild, really out-there proposal is we buck up our ideas, get the country properly managed, cease and desist the degraded behaviour of selling loons weapons with which to kill each other – which they purchase with loans our banks have given them – and pour our ingenuity and energies into  making and selling (or in fact using for our own consumption) things that are of some real freakin’ use.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
