Wake Up: How Sugar Affects Us and Starting a Holistic Lifestyle

There is a lot of information circulating about the effects of sugar…to our detriment. The information can be quite overwhelming causing many people to skim through the posted articles or leaf through magazines, looking to find what jumps off the page.
Guest Donne DeSanti, a Health and Wellness Coach and educator in the holistic lifestyle arena, simplifies what sugar does to our bodies. From weight to stress, sugar plays a significant role in our daily lives. DeSanti shares, how after having been on medication to treat ADHD, changing his diet led to not having to take medication to treat it. He also shared his mother, a breast cancer survivor, who refused traditional therapies, overcame the disease by changing what she was consuming.
DeSanti’s approach to lifestyle change is not one by taking away from our lifestyle, rather complementing it by adding healthy things to it. By doing so, the unhealthy habits will eventually be replaced with the healthy ones. Why does this approach work? Because the good feelings we achieve by adding healthy components will create an internal desire to direct the unhealthy ones out of our lives.
So exactly how does one get started implementing this strategy? Watch the show. DeSanti covers how to get started and the type of results that can be seen. He indicates the results can be seen relatively quickly…within a matter of days. However, to fully benefit from changing your lifestyle, one needs to make changes permanently. He offers a 12 week program to ensure changes are incorporated on a more permanent level. Most of us have heard it takes 90 days to make a habit. This is a habit we need to make. Besides, by adding healthy changes we are going to find we are less irritable, have more energy, sleep better, and looking and feeling better all the way around.
