It almost seems like a distraction from another German court scandal: Yesterday, Tuesday, the presenter at SWR actually reported on the lawsuit brought by a vaccine victim that was rejected by the court in Mainz – but many viewers may have been more distracted by the announcer’s red nail polish. Social networks are now wondering when the employees of the state broadcaster will appear on television wearing strap-ons.

In view of the self-determination law passed today, nothing more should surprise anyone in Germany, writes Vanessa Renner. (ER: browsers will translate)

.

In principle, it would be an important report: the Mainz regional court rejected the lawsuit of a dentist who lost her hearing after being vaccinated – on the grounds that the EMA assessed the risk-benefit of experimental gene therapy drugs as positive. On the social networks, the tweets are currently less about the report than about the SWR moderator, who is financed from the compulsory license fee, because he posed there with red painted fingernails. Are public broadcasters now parodying themselves?

People, people. It’s getting more and more absurd. Just live 6pm. News with painted nails.

The Twitter user then asked ARD and SWR, “Why not with a dildo on? He got no response — but some users didn’t think the possibility was far-fetched.

Reference to the self-determination law?

At the time of the news report in question, it was still being debated; today the highly controversial “self-determination law” was passed in Germany. Critics say the law deprives parents of their right to self-determination, eliminates safe spaces for women and opens the door to perverts. The Ampel cabinet (traffic light) has thus definitively relegated Germany to a madhouse, according to many users on the social networks.

Tomorrow the cabinet must approve the #self-determination law. To promote the law, politicians like Sven Lehmann continue to spread fake news. Time for a fact check that clears up the 5 biggest myths about the law.

Amusingly, however, is the fact that a radical turbo naturalization law was passed at the same time, devaluing the German passport and providing huge new incentives for migration. With “special integration benefits”, the German passport can now be obtained after three years. What is a special integration performance? For example, for German judges, rapists are also top-integrated – we remember this statement:

One can be very curious how radical-religious migrants from Islamic to Islamic-influenced countries will solve the problem of biological men in women’s toilets. All in all, today should have brought the AfD a lot of new votes.

Whether the painted nails of the ÖRR spokesperson yesterday were intended as a statement about the trans law remains unclear. The fact is that even the left-wing taz cannot warm up to such a rapprochement – we read on Monday:

It’s more unpleasant when guys think they’ve done something against the patriarchy because of a bit of nail polish. There’s plenty of this kind of disillusioned tokenism – but it fits perfectly into the discourse on critical masculinity, where it’s clearly more important to be seen as a proper guy than to behave properly with women. –  taz

It’s a pity you can’t please even your favorite clientele in this way. The public broadcasters disqualify themselves day after day – just like the Ampel. At least the AfD is happy!
