VP Harris: Creation of new office to support states enforcing ‘red flag’ Gun laws

Red flag laws allow the state to temporarily remove a firearm from someone deemed to be a potential threat.

By Charlotte Hazard

Vice President Kamala Harris on Saturday announced the creation of a new office that will support states that implement “red flag” laws to combat gun violence.

She made the announcement at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, where the mass shooting of high school students occurred in 2018 in which 17 people died.

“The shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School occurred after there were clear warning signs, but there were no tools to remove the shooter’s firearm,” the White House said in a statement.

The goal of the National Extreme Risk Protection Order Resource Center will be to provide states with resources to put red flag laws into place.

Red flag laws allow the state to temporarily remove a firearm from someone deemed to be a potential threat.

Harris called on the 29 states that don’t have red flag laws to enact them, according to The Guardian.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)

  1. This woman has the intelligence of a six year old. No one as ignorant as her should ever be given any power. She should be heckled and laughed off the stage everywhere she goes. If this is what the fake government puts up there and calls their VP, they are dumb too, and we are all in trouble.
