Washington Post suggests stopping Trump is Biden’s legacy

“Biden’s presidential legacy is nearly complete,” the editorial asserted

By Madeleine Hubbard

The Washington Post stated that President Joe Biden’s “central achievement of his presidency” is stopping former President Donald Trump.

“Some presidents struggle in office to frame their legacy. But for Biden, it’s easy. His core mission from the beginning was to prevent Trump from destroying American democracy,” columnist David Ignatius wrote on Friday in an editorial.

He stressed that Biden “has been consistent” in his rhetoric about defeating Trump.

Excusing the president’s mistakes, Ignatius mentioned Biden’s remarks in December 2018, when he said, “I am a gaffe machine, but, my God, what a wonderful thing compared to a guy who can’t tell the truth.”

The editorial went on to applaud Biden for his Sept. 1 speech attacking Trump and MAGA Republicans for threatening “the very foundations of our republic.”

Ignatius acknowledged that Biden “might have difficulty governing after the midterm elections,” when Republicans are poised to take back the House and that the 2024 presidential election “remains a mystery.”

He concluded: “But as Trump’s political death spiral accelerates, Biden’s presidential legacy is nearly complete.”

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
