ER Editor: As far as we are aware, Dr. Andrew Wakefield’s only so-called crime was to publicly suggest that children get the MMR vaccine (3 vaccines in one: measles, mumps & rubella) on a distributed basis as parents were complaining of their children falling sick into the autistic spectrum immediately following this triple hit (for ‘autism’, think ‘brain damage’).
He didn’t take an anti-vax position at all but became public enemy number 1 nonetheless, this during the middle 90’s. Bowel disease was also part of the parents’ complaints to Wakefield, of which there were many.
