Basic Psychology Is Being Used By Governments To Condition Our Behavior
By TLB Contributing Partner: Christina England, BA, Hons
Many people believe that this pandemic has been built on fear, and they could be correct, because it is an established fact that if you fear something enough, you will do anything to avoid it.
There are three very famous psychological studies that are based on human and animal behavior which demonstrate that it is very easy to change human behavior by using classical and operant conditioning.
Could these methods be what our governments are using on us to change our behavior and gain power?
Classical and Operant Conditioning Explained:
Study 1 – Pavlov and his Dogs
One of the most revealing studies was undertaken by Russian physiologist Ivan Pavlov (1849-1936) when he carried out a series of experiments that are today referred to as ‘Pavlov’s Dogs.’
An article published by Psychologist World describing the study stated that:
“Pavlov came across classical conditioning unintentionally during his research into animals’ gastric systems. Whilst measuring the salivation rates of dogs, he found that they would produce saliva when they heard or smelt food in anticipation of feeding. This is a normal reflex response which we would expect to happen as saliva plays a role in the digestion of food.”
However, it was not long before Pavlov also discovered that the dogs could be conditioned to salivate when he exposed them to events and stimuli that were seemingly unrelated to food prior to feeding.
He discovered that the dogs could also be conditioned to associate the following stimuli with food if they were introduced to them prior to feeding:
- a door opening
- precise tones produced by a buzzer
- the ticking of a metronome
- electric shocks
The article also stated:
“The implications for Pavlov’s findings are significant as they can be applied to many animals, including humans.”
Interesting, don’t you agree?
Study 2 – Little Albert
This information leads me to write about the story of Little Albert, another excellent example of classical conditioning.
Little Albert was a study conducted by John B. Watson and Rosalie Rayner.
When ‘Little Albert’ was just nine months old, Watson and Rayner exposed the infant to a variety of stimuli. These included a white rat, a monkey, masks, and burning newspapers, and they observed the boy’s reactions. Initially the infant showed no fear.
However, when Watson and Rayner exposed the infant to the rat whilst at the same time also hitting a metal pipe behind the infant’s head with a hammer, the infant immediately began to cry. Watson and Rayner then repeatedly paired the white rat with the loud noise and it wasn’t long before Albert associated the rat with the loud noise and began to cry on simply seeing the rat.
In time, the infant became so traumatized on seeing the rat that he would not only begin to cry hysterically, but he would also crawl away as fast as he could.
Of course, this study would not have been allowed to take place today, as it would be classified as unethical, however, it does prove that given the right circumstances, fear can be a learnt response.
Study 3 – Skinner and Operant Conditioning
In an article published by Simply Psychology, author Saul McLeod wrote:
“Operant conditioning, also known as instrumental conditioning, is a method of learning normally attributed to B.F. Skinner, where the consequences of a response determine the probability of it being repeated. Through operant conditioning behavior which is reinforced (rewarded) will likely be repeated, and behavior which is punished will occur less frequently.”
Skinner believed that because the method was too simple, classical conditioning alone could not be used to explain the complex behavior of humans. He believed that the best way to learn about human behavior was to study the causes of a behavior and its consequences.
McLeod wrote:
“Skinner is regarded as the father of Operant Conditioning, but his work was based on Thorndike’s (1898) law of effect. According to this principle, behavior that is followed by pleasant consequences is likely to be repeated, and behavior followed by unpleasant consequences is less likely to be repeated.
Skinner introduced a new term into the Law of Effect – Reinforcement. Behavior which is reinforced tends to be repeated (i.e., strengthened); behavior which is not reinforced tends to die out-or be extinguished (i.e., weakened).”
To study his theory in detail, Skinner placed small animals such as rats and pigeons in a box and then either rewarded or punished them for engaging in certain behaviors. These behaviors included lever pressing (for rats) or key pecking (for pigeons).
Skinner identified three types of responses, or operants, that can follow behavior:
- Neutral operants: responses from the environment that neither increase nor decrease the probability of a behavior being repeated.
- Reinforcers: Responses from the environment that increase the probability of a behavior being repeated. Reinforcers can be either positive or negative.
- Punishers: Responses from the environment that decrease the likelihood of a behavior being repeated. Punishment weakens behavior.
To prove his theory, Skinner placed a hungry rat in the box. The box contained a lever to one side, and as the rat moved around the box, as expected, it would sometimes accidentally knock the lever, which immediately caused food to drop into the box.
It was not long before the rat began to associate the lever with food and the rat would repeat the action over and over again.
However, Skinner wanted to see if the rats would lessen a behavior if they were being punished.
The author wrote that:
“Skinner showed how negative reinforcement worked by placing a rat in his Skinner box and then subjecting it to an unpleasant electric current which caused it some discomfort. As the rat moved about the box it would accidentally knock the lever. Immediately it did so the electric current would be switched off. The rats quickly learned to go straight to the lever after a few times of being put in the box. The consequence of escaping the electric current ensured that they would repeat the action again and again.”
These two learned responses are known as escape learning and avoidance learning.
In fact, similar methods of rewarding good behavior and punishing bad behavior, although less dramatic, have been used by mothers to teach their children the difference between good behavior and bad behavior for many years.
Are Governments Using Basic Psychology to Further Their Agenda?
It is an established fact that humans have always been exposed to disease. However, for the majority of us, this encounter has never been something to fear. We have learned to accept that from time to time we become ill and that becoming ill is usually nothing to worry about.
It is believed that to exercise control and make us fearful of disease and therefore compliant, our government would need a new disease, something with which we would be unfamiliar.
In other words, they needed a white rabbit.
By introducing a new disease to the world, governments could manipulate the media into informing all of us that this new disease was a killer and had the capacity to kill millions of people, enabling unsavory leaders to spread fear and panic across the world, providing them with not only their white rabbit, but also the hammer to hit the metal pipe.
Governments Pull a White Rabbit from a Hat
As we are well aware, the world was formally introduced to the coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, in late 2019, although, in fact, coronaviruses had existed for many years.
To make us really fear this so-called ‘new’ disease, governments introduced a variety of restrictions.
Using the worldwide media and a barrage of press conferences to make us extremely fearful of COVID-19, governments introduced us to the wearing of face masks and social distancing.
To push their agenda even further, governments locked down whole countries and gave citizens strict guidelines, which we were strongly advised to follow.
They informed us that if we did not follow these guidelines, we would be punished. These threats were followed by a barrage of news reports, showing hospitals filled to capacity with sick and dying patients who were said to be overflowing our hospitals and clogging up intensive care beds.
In 2020, governments announced that scientists had manufactured a new vaccine that would save the world from this terrible disease, telling us that it could only save us if every man, woman and child was fully vaccinated.
Despite the rising numbers of adverse reactions, people lined up in the thousands to receive the vaccination. However, even though governments hailed the vaccination program as a success, countries were falling short of their targets. To push people into having the vaccine, leaders decided to introduce vaccine passports, which allowed fully vaccinated individuals more freedom and would discriminate against those people who were either unable to receive the vaccination or chose not to be vaccinated.
The Liberty Beacon believe that these steps were used in an attempt to condition our behavior.
Lies, Lies and More Lies
We are continually being informed that there are very few people who have not been vaccinated. However, government documents have been discovered that appear to state the complete opposite.
Recently, the UK government informed us that only five million people living in the UK had not been vaccinated. However, according to a government report, the true figure of those who remain unvaccinated in England alone is in fact approximately 23 million people.
A report published on 17 December 2021 by the Daily Expose shared that:
“For months the British public have been deceived with tales that there are just 5 million people in the United Kingdom who have refused to take up the offer of a Covid-19 vaccine. But today we can reveal that this is a lie.
It is a complete fabrication that has no doubt been used to make those who have refused the jab feel as if they are part of a minority, because an official UK Government report proves that in England alone there are approximately 23.5 million people who have not had a single dose of a Covid-19 vaccine.”
The charts taken from the UK government website not only support these claims but also demonstrate that there are more fully vaccinated people in hospitals than unvaccinated people.
The article stated:
“The population of England is approximately 56 million, and according to ‘Statista’ the 2020 figures show that approximately 3.23 million of those are aged 4 and under, and a further 3.54 million are aged between 5 and 9.”
(Please note that these are the age groups that are currently not being offered a vaccine for covid-19 in the UK.)
The Daily Expose stated:
“The Statists site also states that approximately 3.44 million are between the ages of 10 and 14, so if we divide that number equally by five and then times by two we can roughly work out the number of 10 and 11 year old children and work out the total population of England eligible for a Covid-19 injection, which is of course everyone over the age 12.
That equation totals 1.38 million, therefore in England, there are approximately 8.2 million children under the age of 12, and 47.8 million children eligible for Covid-19 vaccination.”
As you can see, using the charts exposed in their article clearly demonstrates that the UK government have been lying to us.
The article concluded:
“As we can see from the above according to the UK Health Security Agency report, 32.4 million people have had a single dose, 29.7 million people have had a second dose, and 15 million people have had a third dose as of December 12th 2021.
This means there are 23.5 million people who have refused to partake in the largest real-world experiment ever conducted, not just 5 million that has been claimed for months and used to write discrimatory articles such as this one from journalist Andrew Neil.”
Facts are facts; we are being lied to. These vaccines are not here to save the world.
The Liberty Beacon believes that governments around the world are using basic psychology tactics to induce fear into the lives of every person.

Note from Christina:
Arlo was rescued from Romania when he was just six months old, after being born with deformed front legs and dumped outside a railway station.
I have been fostering him for the past year and after a massive fundraising effort, have raised enough money to have surgery to straighten his left leg and fuse his wrist.
This surgery was performed last week and was a great success. However, this has left him lopsided and he now needs similar surgery on his right leg.
Please donate anything that you can to help this darling little boy to stand tall and walk on all four legs for the first time. Thank you.
Please consider donating through my fundraiser, where you can see more of his story.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
