Bill O’Reilly: ‘People’s Convoy’ should to go to Southern Border

The border is still wide open. Those truckers going down there to El Paso and Tucson, and Brownsville, that would redraw attention onto this cataclysmic policy from the Biden administration at the border.” ~Bill O’Reilly

Conservative pundit Bill O’Reilly is advising the “People’s Convoy” of truckers protesting COVID-19 mandates to switch routes from Washington, D.C., to the southern border.

In an interview Wednesday on “Just the News — Not Noise,” cohost John Solomon asked O’Reilly for his thoughts on Canada’s “Freedom Convoy” protest. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act for the first time in his country’s history to control the trucker protest against pandemic restrictions.

Earlier this month, O’Reilly told “Just the News” that the “truckers won” their Ottawa protest and made Trudeau look “very weak.” The protest was cleared out this past weekend after occupying the capital for more than three weeks.

O’Reilly predicted that the impending People’s Convoy in the U.S., modeled after the Canadian protest, will not look like its northern counterpart.

“Don’t expect to see what we saw in Ottawa,” O’Reilly said. He told “Just the News” that the protest is unnecessary because “COVID is now on the wane.”

“The authorities will not let the truckers into Washington, D.C., itself, you’re not going to be able to get into the nation’s capital,” O’Reilly warned. “They’re going to be stopped.”

O’Reilly pointed out the apparent double standards of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on protesters.

“It’s interesting that Pelosi today called for the National Guard to come out and stop the truckers so that they didn’t interrupt the State of the Union next Tuesday,” he said. “Isn’t that fascinating?”

After receiving requests from Capitol Police and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, the Pentagon has authorized the use of 700 National Guard members ahead of the protest expected in the capital on March 5.

“[Pelosi] wouldn’t do it for Jan. 6, when Trump warned her that the Guard would be needed, wouldn’t do it,” O’Reilly commented. “But now she’s doing it for Biden. Isn’t that fascinating?”

Former President Donald Trump has said before that he authorized the National Guard prior to Jan. 6, but Pelosi turned him down. A spokesperson for Pelosi said that the speaker was unaware a request was ever made.

O’Reilly said that on his show, “No Spin News,” he “advised the truckers to put the gear in reverse and truck down to the border.”

He said truckers are needed at the “open” border due to the increase in illegal immigration under the Biden administration.

“That’s where we need them,” O’Reilly said. “So COVID mandates are pretty much shot now. But the border is still wide open. Those truckers going down there to El Paso and Tucson, and Brownsville, that would redraw attention onto this cataclysmic policy from the Biden administration at the border. So that’s what I hope they do.”

Georgia Republican House candidate Mike Collins owns a trucking company. He told “Just the News” that he plans on taking O’Reilly up on his suggestion and plans on going to the border after the Washington, D.C., protest.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
