Contrary to What It Claims, US Is Massively Importing Russian Oil

It then makes a profit on reselling ‘insane’ amounts to the US. As Thierry Meyssan’s Voltaire Network article below confirms, an independent Europe is the real enemy, not Russia.

India’s breaking all records for buying Russian oil, but who is the surprise buyer?

The US has traditionally been a big buyer of a Russian refined product called virgin gas oil (VGO). Now, since it can’t buy VGO directly from Russia, it’s purchasing it from Indian refineries run by Reliance Energy and Nayara Energy – and the VGO from these refineries is made from Russian crude oil.

Reliance, Nayara biggest exporters

The US is buying 200,000 bpd of finished products, mainly VGO from Reliance.  “The biggest destination country of Indian products is surprisingly the United States. And the biggest exporters into the United States are Reliance and Nayara,” says Katona.

Reliance and Nayara are the two biggest buyers of Russian crude but the big public sector giants like IndianOil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum (BP) and Hindustan Petroleum (HP) have also got into the game in a big way.  “Everyone’s buying. It has become a national sport,” says Katona. …“The charts show the US is the number one destination or product in December. Number 2 place is the UAE and third place is Singapore. The US is exporting an insane amount of VGO,” says Katona.

The article also answers the question, what is virgin gas oil, already a product that receives some degree of refinement at the Russian source point:

“If you have a sophisticated refinery, you can break down VGO into more complex hydrocarbons. It’s a semi-product which is ideal to produce transportation fuels. It’s remarkably good for transportation fuels, specifically for diesel,” notes Katona. “It can also be upgraded into gasoline.”

Contrary to what it claims, US massively imports Russian oil

Whilst Washington has prohibited its own population and allies from buying Russian oil, it has been importing it on a massive scale without violating its so-called “sanctions”, reports The Telegraph of India [1].

India purchases 1.7 million barrels of Russian oil per day. This oil is first refined by Nayara Energy and Reliance Industries, and then resold legally to the United States.

In practice, this means that Washington’s economic war does not hurt Russia, but solely its allies in the European Union, who are the only ones deprived of Russian hydrocarbons. This observation should be placed in the context of the sabotage of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines, cutting off the European Union from its main source of energy.

This shows that Washington is fully aware that Moscow has not invaded Ukraine, but is there chiefly to enforce Security Council resolution 2202. All the Atlanticist propaganda accusing Russia of the most egregious crimes is, therefore, not aimed at mobilizing Western forces against it, but at manipulating the Europeans into accepting an economic recession imposed in the spirit of the 1992 Pentagon policy paper masterminded by Paul Wolfowitz (photo) [2]. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and his deputy Victoria Nuland belong to the same ideological group as Paul Wolfowitz (ER: pictured above) [3].

At the time, he wrote: “Although the United States supports the project of European integration, we must seek to prevent the emergence of European-only security arrangements which would undermine NATO, and in particular its military integrated command structure.”

For the Pentagon, the main enemy is not Russia, but an independent Europe.
