Sometimes, things just happen that are not planned, and this is what I love about this series… No planning, just off-the-cuff news and happenings in my life… Well, in the news today, … You might have heard or remember me speaking about ‘my next door neighbor’ that was so much of an influence on me and MY HEALING ~ or ‘my 92 year old neighbor that I have coffee with up to four times a day, on occasion’ ~
Well, after a hard last few years of fighting and soul-searching, that I was so privileged to share and to learn from, Miss Carol has passed, now two days ago, short of her 93rd birthday, she was so ready to go… to leave this place…
So I find myself HAPPY for her, and not in a selfish, saddened, devastated mindset… No, I am breathing deeper, feeling relieved that she is now in a Better Place.
This Episode is dedicated to Carol’s memory. Her steadfastness, as I knew it to be, her stubbornness, her fearlessness, and yet sometimes with the morning tears in her eyes, as neither her nor I knew or understood what the purpose of our pain and discomfort was… But we dealt with it, minute by minute, …
“Well, we made it through last night! We’re still breathing!!” …
And all of this, yes, had such a positive effect on my healing…
COOKING? Heck yeah! I was cooking a bit more, sending it over to her, like with bacon, or a muffin or a pancake I made specially for her… and brought it over to her… Just as SHE DID for me, when I would come home from my TURP procedure(s), four in all!!!
SHE would come to my door with a three-course dinner for me, as I could hardly move with this new tubing coming out of me… for months, we did this… Sharing, Giving, doing exactly what we believe to be Right and Compassionate. She always read her Bible, and here I am, the 25 year long researcher and truth seeker, Healing myself from two cancers!! And being able to SHARE with her, and to listen to her Wisdom, and yes, learn to shut up more and talk less. 😊 And the joke between us, because I used to drive her around more and more in her car… always was that movie, Driving Miss Daisy … Well, it lovingly became
Driving Miss Carol.
UPDATES ~ Still very sluggish, and I realize that it is not ‘because of something specific’, like a part of the body, but I just feel like the title of my last Episode said, ‘A TEMPORARILY DEFLATED TIRE’ ~ No loss of appetite, eating and drinking well, still no change on the night sleep pattern, but now that the days are cooler and with less humidity, I can function better. I believe a lot of my problems this past week and a half were mostly due to that: Very high humidity, and searing hot temperatures that would make weeds shrivel up and die, which some did!! ~ Totally draining ~ and not fully understanding why, sweating profusely, and just wanting to ‘veg’ ~ now we know why ~
I spent the last 25 years of my life in Canada, dry climate, ocean-side towns and villages… only to come here, where the inland dryness, the heat and the humidity, are just too much sometimes…
