My, how things turn around when political expediency is involved. It seemed that just last month, the Obama Regime couldn’t believe anything that they heard from the NSA and other US intelligence agencies…at least regarding Russia. After all, how else could it be explained as to why our amazing community organizer in chief was so ‘surprised’ when Russia sent troops into the Crimea and literally stole this land from Ukraine?
Now, it would seem as if Obama and John-John ‘Two-State’ Kerry have received and finally believe some new US intel. On Friday, during his closed-door meeting with the Trilateral Commission, Kerry revealed that he has seen and listened to telephone conversations proving that Russia has been directing many of the separatist groups in eastern Ukraine. He also claimed that some of these ‘handlers’ are the same ones that have been used in the Crimea.
According to John ‘Apartheid’ Kerry, these groups are clearly taking their orders from Moscow. He even went so far as to say that everyone can tell the differences in accents, idioms, and the language itself. Of course, he didn’t go so far as to name actual Russian officials, but did say that these intercepted calls give proof of the Russians deliberately fomenting unrest in the eastern Ukraine and then lying about it to the public and to US officials.
This is not really anything new. After all, we have seen this sort of thing before, back in Georgia in 2008. Kerry even stated that some of the same people involved in the destabilization of Georgia are now involved in eastern Ukraine. “This is insulting to everyone’s intelligence, let alone to our notions about how we ought to be behaving in the 21st century. It’s thuggism, it’s rogue state-ism. It’s the worst order of behavior.”
This just seems so amazing. After Obama, Kerry, and the rest of the Regime decided to completely ignore all of the intelligence reports signaling that Russia was up to something in Crimea, now they have total faith in the NSA and the rest of the US intelligence community once again! They even scolded the EU for ‘exacerbating’ the Ukraine crisis through their support for the Maidan protests that ended up ousting former president Yanukovych.
Amazing that Kerry and Obama…and maybe even the news media…are now finally starting to come around to exactly what the Regime’s critics have been arguing and saying for at least the last five years. Listen to Kerry again, speaking regarding Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov:
“Right now, there is not a negotiation; there is a confrontation. I’m sad to report I’ve never seen such a complete, miserable, unaccountable, disgraceful walk away from a set of promises and understandings than what has taken place, Kerry said. ‘I’ve had six conversations with Lavrov in the last weeks…nobody is better at telling you that red is blue and black is white…That’s what we are dealing with.’”
Hmm, I guess saying we told you all so would be a little smug? At any rate, this was what the Republicans and other critics tried to warn the Obama Regime about before they stupidly decided to cancel the missile defense program in Poland and Eastern Europe. Russia is still Russia…and she is flexing her muscles once again, trying to reunite her historic empire.
What do YOU think? Does it seem kind of silly how NOW Kerry and Obama are willing to acknowledge their intelligence reports, while before they would not? Perhaps it went against their politics of pressing the reset button, but now everyone knows this policy is a failure? What should be done from here?
