TLBTV: Is Our Education System Failing? – Introducing TLB’s Lorana Hoopes, Educator
WATCH TLBTV SHOW BELOW INTRO
By: Roger Landry (TLB) Show Host
On this episode of Eradicating Programmed Ignorance we present a discussion with our newest TLB family member Lorana Hoopes. Lorana is an educator with over twelve years of experience and the author of several books on the subject (See links to her books below article). Today we delve into her thoughts and perceptions on just how effective the current system of education is … and why.
I am joined every week by my OH SO intelligent Co-Host Rebecca Mahan. Rebecca is the Liberty Beacon Project’s Media Director as well as the host of the TLBTV show Rebecca Sounds Reveille. Rebecca served in the United States Marine Corp and is also a retired peace officer. With her education and service her contributions to Eradicating Programmed Ignorance are incalculable.
So please watch as we discuss the status of education in America today … It failings and the reasons for those failings. Common Core and Corporate meddling in the education of our children has wreaked havoc on a system tasked with preparing our children for their role as the future leaders and facilitators of this nation.
Lorana Hoopes was born in Texas and spent most of her life there until meeting her husband and moving to the West Coast. She had a love of books and writing from a young age, but could never finish a book until inspiration hit her in 2016. Her first three Heartbeats series novels – The Power of Prayer, Where It All Began, and When Hearts Collide are inspirational fiction with a view of the sanctity of life. Her fourth book, A Father’s Love will be out soon. Though her Christian beliefs affect her view on life, she has a much more personal reason for being pro-life. Her grandmother was told that if she didn’t have an abortion when she was pregnant with her 2nd child (Lorana’s mother) that she would die. She chose life for that child and lived until Lorana was 4 years old.
Lorana has three children of her own who are her world. As her oldest began reading, she felt a desire to write books he would like reading and was inspired by The Magic House to create her own series, The Wishing Stone, which will be released soon. These books will be early chapter books for children ages 4-10. The story will follow young Spenser and his brother and sister as they jump into their favorite stories to help out characters. The first book Dangerous Dinosaur will take you back in time to the age of dinosaurs, but the trio will have many adventures both in the past and future. Look for The Wishing Stone soon.
In her spare time, Lorana loves to read, kickbox, and act. You can often find her onstage acting and singing. She loves time with her kids and husband and hopes to do more traveling soon. Her wish is to write full time and retire from teaching, her current full-time profession.
Lorana will soon launch her own weekly TLBTV show.
Her books are available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and wherever books are sold.
