Lorana Writes The World & Guest Stephanie Baruffi (Author) Discuss “Bullying”

Writing comes in many forms, and one of the biggest growing fields today is Children’s literature. Today, I have guest Stephanie Baruffi with me. Stephanie is a literacy coach in the Eastern States and she has just finished her first book, Clarence.
Clarence holds a special place in her heart because it is actually based off her grandfather, who also suffered from big ears, the problem that Clarence faces in the book. Stephanie was also touched by some of the personal illustrations the artist included in the book.
Because she sees it a lot in her work, Stephanie decided to tackle the big task of bullying in her first book. She believes that sometimes these kids who are bullying just don’t have good role models to look up to and with read alouds, they can begin to see how hurtful their words are.
Stephanie has already done several read alouds with Clarence at her area sBullyingchools and plans to do many more. The book is written for K-3rd grade but students will need some help with some of the words if they read it themselves. She did, however, include a glossary in the back so you could see what some of the Italian words she included mean.
