We live in an age where we spend most of our lives moving throughout the day for one form of stress to another. We are seeing more and more people being diagnosed with a number of mental health disorders that extend from having being placed under long term stresses coupled with various traumatic events. These disorders rage from Generalized Anxiety disorder to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The mental health field has been utilizing a number of techniques to assist people to cope with these disorders, which range from taking anxiety workshops to mindfulness training. More common, however, addressing these disorders predominantly is done by prescribing medication. Sometimes, doctors will have a patient utilizing medication combined with some type of behavioral health methods, such as, mindfulness training.
We are now seeing an era where people are seeking to move away from prescribed medications. This is preferable, considering the side effects prescribed medications have. So what are people doing as the look out-side the traditional medical field and away from the harmful chemicals that are ingesting? They are turning to holistic approaches.
