Using Cialis Tadalafil Pills in Treating ED & BPH

By TLB Contributing Writer: Helen

Cialis, the brand which contains the active ingredient known as Tadalafil, is a trademark of Eli Lilly and Company. It is used to treat two separate medical conditions in men, which may sometimes coexist. The two conditions are ED (erectile dysfunction) and BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia – a condition causing problems with urination).

In this article, we’re going to look at what ED and BPH are. Then we will examine how Cialis helps in treating these two medical conditions. Another critical aspect that we will be exploring in this article is the question of who should not be taking Tadalafil as medication.

What is ED?

Erectile dysfunction (or ED) is also known as impotence. Impotence is the inability to achieve and maintain a penal erection that is firm enough for sexual intercourse or copulation.

A consistently flaccid pen is a source of concern for any male. Such a man becomes depressed, cannot focus, loses confidence when approaching a female, and becomes shy in all areas of life. Such a male will also notice that he has a reduced interest in sexual activities and cannot workup or even maintain sexual desire.

Sexual arousal in the male is complicated. The brain, muscles, nerves, hormones and even blood vessels, not to mention the emotions, are all involved. The anxiety that comes from erectile dysfunction can lead to even more significant problems.

There are both physical and psychological causes of ED. Some physical causes include:

  • Peyronie’s disease (the development of plaque inside the penis which leads to angulation of penis and painful erections);
  • Injuries from intense treatments for prostate cancer;
  • Clogged blood vessels (atherosclerosis) as well as heart disease and high blood pressure;
  • Diabetes and obesity;
  • Multiple sclerosis.

Some psychological causes of erectile dysfunction include the following:

  • Stress from work or other areas in personal life;
  • Mental health conditions like anxiety or PTSD;
  • Poor communication arising from abuse or relationship failures in the past;
  • Fear of incompatibility.

To treat ED with Cialis, there are two options:

  • You can either take a low dose of 2.5mg or 5mg once daily, or have sex in between. You may record success within 2-5 days, or even earlier.
  • You can also take a tablet only as needed. It could be the 5mg, 10mg or the 20mg, whichever one takes you there, but make sure your doctor is the one who has prescribed the dosage after running a series of tests. Some people experience success in as little as 30 minutes after taking the right dosage.

What is BPH?

The prostate gland is the organ that produces the fluid that is usually part of the semen. Benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) is a condition in which the prostate gland becomes swollen or enlarged. It is a common medical condition among matured men, (between 30-50 years of age). However, this is not to be confused with a cancerous tumor.

BPH interferes with the normal flow of urination by partially blocking the urethra. Such a medical condition impedes the flow of urine. Symptoms of BPH include the following:

  • Inability to urinate or difficulty urinating;
  • Difficulty even starting urination;
  • Urine retention in the bladder leading to frequent urination;
  • The need to urinate urgently;
  • Weak stream;
  • Urine dribbling;
  • Loss of bladder control.

BPH is entirely benign and is not a precursor to cancer. It can, however, lead to more severe complications if not treated quickly. The causes of BPH have not been established, but the following could contribute to risk factors to the condition:

  • Medication like calcium channel blockers;
  • Erectile dysfunction;
  • Obesity;
  • Type II diabetes;
  • Lack of exercise;
  • Genetics.

For treating the signs and symptoms of BPH, as well as ED, your doctor will recommend you begin with a 5mg daily dosage.

Who should not take Cialis?

Certain conditions may be pre-existing in your system (probably unknown to you) which will preclude the suitability of Generic Cialis Tablets for you as a medication to treat ED or BPH. On no occasion you should attempt to self-medicate with Tadafinil.

First and foremost, Cialis is not for women, and it is not for children.

If you fall into any of the categories below, you should not be taking this drug:

  • If you have stomach ulcers and internal bleeding problems.
  • If you have heart problems, such as pulmonary hypertension, chest pain (angina), low blood pressure, heart failure, uncontrolled high blood pressure, irregular heartbeats or arrhythmias (changes in rhythm or rate of theheartbeat), or heart attack. This is because sexual activity places a significant strain on the heart and you need a healthy heart to enjoy sexual activity.
  • If you have astroke or have a history of susceptibility in your family.
  • If you are under prescription withmedicines used to treat hypertension, such asthiazide diuretics likechlorthalidone,acebutolol, irbesartan,and benazepril or alpha-adrenergicantagonists,includingprazosin(used to treat a combination of highblood pressure and benign prostate hyperplasia) which relaxes muscles all over the body when administered.
  • If you have liver or kidney problems which require dialysis.
  • If you are allergic to Tadalafil, or any of its ingredients with manifesting symptoms of an allergic reaction,such as rashes, swelling of the lips, tongue or throat, hives, difficulty breathing or difficulty swallowing.
  • If you are currently taking medicines containing nitrates (like nitroglycerin). A combination of Cialis and these drugs may cause your blood pressure to drop drastically because they widen blood vessels.
  • If you use recreational nitrate drugs, amyl nitrate, which are typically taken via inhalation.
  • If you have a penis that is misshapen or Peyronie’s disease, or if you have an erection that has lasted for four straight hours.
  • If you have sickle cell anemia or leukemia.
  • If one of your eyes has lost its vision due to Non-Arteritic Interior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy.
  • If you have already been prescribed other PDE5 inhibitors, for example, Sildenafil which is also used in combating erectile dysfunction, or high blood pressure, or pulmonary arterial hypertension in the blood vessels in the lungs.
  • If you take high doses of alcohol or grapefruit juice as a habit. You should cease from those habits first before attempting to use Cialis.
  • If you take medication fortreating seizures, such as ezogabine, lorazepam,and carbamazepine, or if you take certain antibiotics such as Rifampicin, Erythromycin,andClarithromycin.

Remember, treating ED or BPH is not only a consultation with your doctor, but also support of your partner.
