Preface by Roger Landry, Founder & Director of TLB Project: Lucille Femine is a longtime friend of both myself and The Liberty Beacon Project. Her abilities as an Artist, Author, and Writer have continued to astonish and please us for over a decade, and will continue for as long as she wishes to participate. Be that a month, or twenty years, we at TLB consider ourselves fortunate and  blessed that Lucille is a part of this organization. We will continue to send our best wishes and personal prayers to her in hopes that she will beat this health setback, and remain a part of our family for years to come. May God Bless you Lucille !!!

Now that I’ve been diagnosed with cancer, is my next step an outpouring of my pain and suffering? Well, maybe I can disguise it as “enlightenment”, if I could reach such lofty heights. But what’s the point of speculating about why I’m writing this?

As long as your intent is not to harm, you can say whatever the hell you want to say with no apology or need to please. In fact, stripped of those compulsions, your words will always have meaning. They would come from that magical, invisible place: you.

I never know where I’m going when I start an article; that’s the adventure. But to hold onto some structure, I’ll return to the subject…which is what? Just a minute, I’m thinking. Yes, it started out about death or its apparancy provided by the medical industry, its really another creative impulse peppered with the relative unimportance of my life’s events.

The joy of life reaches way beyond the pitiful body we think is such hot shit and into the vastness and often scary unknowness of who we are and whatever we want to become. When death seems imminent, we sometimes go into the past and try to import its cargo into the present as a kind of life support. But that’s a heavy load; it consumes attention reserved for only present moments.

It is dead life. In these times of highly threatened further existence on this planet, it is more and more vital to live, regardless of the smallness of individual life circumstances, even the real possibility of death in some near future.

So what is the next step when death is calling? Its not to dress it in panic and loss; that simply hastens it. Or to “get your affairs in order”. Hold on again, I have to perceive the answer. I’m not a planner. Its not to search for it in data from the past or in tomes of dusty philosophical jargon but to let it come to you as you sip your coffee and admire the trees outside.

Nothing else matters or carries so much life and its spontaneity. Don’t try to imagine life that’s already there. It’s flirting with you to fall in love with it. Sure, get in touch with family and friends, write a will, give away all the things you don’t need but those are just things on your to-do list and not even at the top.

So my next step is to keep pursuing the knowledge of life whether I leave this body next week or many years from now. The present moment can be a million years, however we consider it. Life on earth could have been a mistake; we were meant for greater things. But its got some great playing fields.

My plan is to continue writing for the Liberty Beacon among other valuable things to do …

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)

3 Comments on Death Calls … But I’m Hanging Up!

  1. Reading your article, saw myself and my NDE and watched my younger sister pass on from breast cancer. Could see why this was happening and it pertained for the both situations. Why was this happening, it was all about love misplaced and given to everyone else but the self. Love y/our children, your mate, etc and give y/our power and life energy over to them/others because one believes that is love is all about but causes inner conflict within the nature of the self. Love yourself, love your body, love all that you are going through, love the cancer, love the experience, love the lessons given by the cancer, love everyone and everything around you. You are love, share what you are, do not give it away, you can’t give away what you are or if you try it will cause internal dis-ease. If death is calling answer the phone and learn from it, love it, face it because it is you. There is a saying “whatever you resist, persists. May sharing my own experiences serves you in whatever way is best for you. Send blessings and may you have all the guidance and love you need at this time. Shared in love.

  2. THANK YOU from all of us, Lucille!
It is indeed hard to pull the head up and SMILE
and appreciate LIFE in its simplest forms ~
But as soon as we start changing aim, and
SEE the differences, we become … HOOKED.
