Former EU Commissioner Targets France for its Culture-Shaming ahead of the Olympics

ER Editor: We’re going to be a real pain in the neck here and say this is all a manufactured crisis to show up the Cultural Marxist agenda to the normies.

Les Invalides in Paris (images) is where the famous tomb of Napoleon lies and is a military museum. A beautiful, iconic landmark, it draws the tourists and is just across the Seine from the Champs Elysees. There’s a cross on top of the famous dome, and the authorities will allegedly ALLOW it to be removed for the Olympic Games this summer (nothing’s happened to this cross yet). The design plans involving this removal have been revealed in a poster (see the image) by artist Ugo Gattoni. Les Invalides is important to the French military; a Saudi ‘Olympic village’ is tapped to be constructed on the site. So the whole cross outrage has so far been presented in a poster and nothing more.

See this from the Daily Mail earlier this week —

Fury as Paris Olympics poster removes Christian cross from Napoleon’s tomb as France considers allowing a Saudi ‘Olympic village’ to be set up at the famous landmark

So French TV viewers were witness to the remarkable scene of a former EU Commissioner and one-time President of the EU Parliament, Italian politician Antonio Tajani, reminding the world of France’s and Europe’s Christian identity (and his own!) two nights ago. Say what? Pure theatre. Here is Tajani’s World Economic Forum entry with an old photo of him. He’s certainly from the political right, but we know they’ve all been corralled by the globalists  —

Translation: The Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, declared:  “It is regrettable to want to remove the cross of the Invalides. Erasing our history and our identity to send a message to others is not not a wise step. Neither Muslims nor Jews would erase their own history.”

The longer speech for those who want to practice their French —

Translation: Antonio #TAJANI , an Italian minister gives a frank lesson in courage to our commander-in-chief of French desertions and his army of historical cowards!

Tajani reminds us here that it’s stupid not to respect ourselves and our historical identity (European) because if we don’t, others certainly won’t. Jews and Muslims, he says, wouldn’t erase their identity. He claims ‘I am Christian, we are Christians’.

France gets shown up again. And again, we believe it is all theatre to wake up the normies.

Poster for the Paris 2024 Olympics: the head of Italian diplomacy is outraged by the absence of crosses on the dome of Les Invalides

Former President of the European Parliament and Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani estimated on Thursday that the artistic work “erased the history and identity” of France. Criticisms already expressed by the right and the extreme right, but brushed aside by the artist.

The Italian government is involved in the controversy over the poster for the Paris Olympic Games. In front of MEPs from the European People’s Party (EPP), the vice-president of the Italian council and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani mentioned the absence of the cross of the dome of the Invalides in the artistic representation of the designer Ugo Gattoni. And criticized the model of “French-style” secularism, which he described as “stupidity”, as reported by Le Figaro.

“It is not a good idea to erase our history and our identity,” he proclaimed during the EPP Congress in Bucharest. This figure of the Italian right is the predecessor of Ursula von der Leyen at the head of the European Parliament, between 2019 and 2022. Member of the Forza Italia party, he assumes a conservative position, materialized by the evocation of the Christian democratic foundations of the formation founded by Silvio Berlusconi“I hope they will change things in France,” he insisted.

An artistic choice authorized by the Olympic code

For several days, the official poster for the Olympic Games has been the subject of controversy surrounding the designer’s bias. The tricolor flag does not appear in the drawing, nor Les Invalides cross. Interviewed by BFMTV, Ugo Gattoni explained his approach by invoking artistic freedom, moving away from a “conformal” representation of “objects and buildings”. Free expression supported by the organization of the Olympic Games, which told HuffPost “ a free exercise for each Organizing Committee” included in the Olympic code.

Translation: They are ready to deny France to the point of distorting reality to cancel its history. How can we understand the Invalides by erasing the cross which constitutes their deep meaning? How can you claim to love a country when you do everything to destroy its roots?

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
