Good morning Miss H……,

It was so nice to hear from you. It reminded me of a class of children that was touring my ship way back in 1969 just before we departed to our West Pacific Cruise to Vietnam, a complement of 4000 men. They wanted me to write them about my experiences but I just never could think of what to write. I was nineteen then, drafted into a very unpopular war.

I was very lucky to have gotten my job, Yeoman for the Captain on the USS Kitty Hawk, CVA 63. You can google it if you wish. It was decommissioned just a few years ago… I grew up on that ship, but honestly, I didn’t understand the reason behind such a massive undertaking, of planes with bombs, landing and taking off 24/7, and I didn’t get the picture, the truth of it, until I continued my education and became a conservative writer.

I must admit that writing you about the reasons for war did not become evident for at least 40 years, and when it hit home, finally, wholly having a conversation with an older engineer off the coast of Africa. He changed my life with his insight about war. He had been a Sergeant on the ground, fighting hand to hand, with a lot of casualties, experiences that left him forever changed with what is called PTSD. His stories are haunting… So I am reluctant to tell you the truth of these very convoluted and graphic experiences, that we both experienced.

I hate war. We lost 58,000 of my brothers in Vietnam, and for the life of me , could find no reason worth that profound for the pain and loss. I took an oath when I was sworn in, to protect and to serve America from all enemies both domestic and foreign, and I didn’t understand that at the time. I asked my Chief that night what we were fighting for and he told me we were pushing back on Communism. Now, at 73, I am so proud to be considered an Oathkeeper, and I fight back with the pen. It is said that the pen is mightier than the sword, and yet, the enemies we face are well hidden, and powerfully entrenched. My girlfriend watched me take that oath, and we are still together, and in love, after 50 years.

Now, there is a lot I would like to explain to you, but I think you are just too young for it, and putting it to words to explain it would take volumes. Concepts like liberty from tyranny, a democracy, a Corporatocracy, an Constitutional Republic, is just too complex to for a letter.

Know this. I love America. Our founding fathers gave us the greatest of all gifts, a Republic based on Constitutional Law. A Democracy is mob rule… Please read the Constitution, and the Federalist Papers, which are letters and ideas our founders had, like George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. They told us emphatically that Liberty must be fought for every generation, because there are those all around the world, even entrenched in our own government, that would seek to undermine it, for power and control.

The following are a few words worth knowing, if you are so inclined: the Bolshevik Revolution, Marxist Communism, Leninism, Neoconservatism, The Liberty movement, socialism, ANTIFA and BLM, and I have attempted to learn and teach these concepts since I woke up little more that twenty years ago.

I feel great emotion talking about this to you. You are indeed the future of this great Nation and the fight to keep it will be in your hands. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have given me great hope. One day, when you get a bit older, perhaps you might find my essays a help in your quest to learn about these most profound ideas, and forge your future with your own oath, because it is something so profound, it is worth dying for.

Regards to you, my new friend, and I look forward to meeting you too!

Ken La Rive.

P.S.: Your letter is awesome. You are well ahead of me when I was in eighth grade. I will keep it always. Thank you.

Ken LaRive

From the Author, Ken La Rive – We in the Liberty movement have been fighting to take back this country for less than a decade, peacefully and with the love of God and country in our hearts. Our banner has been trampled on and displaced by a multitude of distractions, further eroding our nation and the cause for Liberty. And so, as we are pulled by forces we cannot fathom, powerful entities with unlimited resources stolen from our future, unaccountable trillions printed out of thin air and put on our backs as debt, we must formulate the most pitiful of all questions any patriot might ask in the final hour: Are we going to fight for our master’s tyranny, or are we going to demand the return of our civil liberties and Constitution? Are we going to choose The Banner of Liberty, or the shackles of voluntary servitude? Will it be a war for corporate profit, or a war to regain our ability to self govern, as the blood and toil of our forefathers presented to us, their children, as a gift? I fear that decision is emanate. I fear that any decision will be a hard one, but my greatest fear of all is that the decision has already been made for us.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
