TLB Editors note: As with most mass shootings, wherever the place, whatever the reason(s), early creditable information is hard to come by. Is it another false flag? Is it really a coordinated ISIS terrorist attack? In this case is it a case of homophobia? Or just some nut-case thinking he is carrying out the will of Allah? At this point we don’t know for sure.
What we do know for sure is the anti-gun, anti-2nd amendment crowed will be howling for more gun control, while the LGBTQ communities will be screaming for an increase in federal hate crimes law. There are already laws that say murder is illegal. There are already laws against using an assault weapon to threaten or kill another person. There are already laws that address hate crimes of every stripe and type. Do any of these laws stop these horrible acts from happening? The short answer is NO.
An “evil doer” does not care about a law that may stand in his or her way. That person(s) is going to carry out their intended act by any means possible. With no moral compass, it is full speed ahead.

In what is the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history, a gunman shot and killed over 50 people and wounded 53 at a gay club in Orlando, Florida early this morning. The attack is being investigated as an act of domestic terrorism. Omar Mateen was equipped with an AR-15-style assault rifle and took many hostages in the bathroom. The gunman was killed by police several hours after the attack.
“It appears he was organized and well-prepared,” Orlando Police Chief John Mina said early Sunday. The shooter had an assault-type weapon, a handgun and “some type of (other) device on him.”
Rep. Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence claimed Mateen “made a pledge of allegiance” to ISIS and had been “heard praying in a foreign language.” Mateen’s father denies his son being involved with ISIS but does admit his son’s anger towards gay couples.
