Rumors, Lies, & Innuendos!

Rumors, lies, and innuendos! Certain people in your family will always get a perverse thrill by casting aspersions upon other members of their family. In Mien Kamph, Adolf Hitler said If you are going to tell a lie make it a big one, and if you tell it often enough it will become the truth.

We all make bad choices. I don’t say mistakes because mistakes are subjective. There are countless people who go to bed with a ten and wake up with a two, but you must always remember it is their two. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

To transplant your pre-conceived ideas about someone to a child is one of the most disgusting actions known to man. To pass your judgmental mindset onto a child is the destruction of a dream. Perception is in the mind. It affects the mind of the perceiver and you have no business there! The author of the above statement, Casey Nunez, is a friend of mine. I’ve known him for years. He is an author, philanthropist, stuntman, actor, supporter of police, and all around great guy. The woman he is referring to is obviously a Native American member of the Slap-a-Ho tribe who doesn’t have anything better to do than run her mouth. As an avowed womanizer I could find better use for her mouth, but then, that’s just me!

We all have these. God sprinkles them around for diversity. You’ve seen them. Picture perfect illusions portraying plastic lives. Beware! The Apostle Paul reminds us that all have sinned. All have fallen short of the glory of God. Some more than others. The farther you fall, the harder you hide!

Whenever I’m accused of a sexual impropriety I ask if the girl was pretty. If the answer is positive then I confess, and being a writer, add details so as to embellish the event. If she was ugly then I never met her! It’s quite simple, actually. Twenty years after the encounter who’s to know. People change. There was a cheerleader back when I was in high school. I won’t embarrass her or her family. Well, I can’t embarrass her because she died. The paramedics had to remove her body from her deathbed with a hoist because she weighed six hundred pounds. People change.

There are those who have made light of my own short comings, and I have a few. Didn’t finish college, couldn’t hold a job, six failed marriages, generally a despicable guy. But I learned. If I couldn’t a better man then I could write about my own shortcomings in order to show people how they could be! I have learned over seventy-one years that I could turn a phrase. So, I wrote three thousand songs, seven books, and around thirty thousand articles. As my little Jewish ex would put it, not too shabby! My detractors concentrated on my romantic adventures. So, I developed a technique. Like Ponticus Pilate said, “What is truth,” and Jesus told him, “Whatever they burn in they crazy minds,” or words to that effect.

I won’t name my detractors. I am an executive producer who’s work is currently being judged by thirty-six film festivals world wide, and yes, Cannes is among them. My partner, Vic has not one but two songs in the top forty (Billboard) and Witt and Wittier Films is currently filming two movies (at the same time)! My naysayers? They’ll be the ones just outside of my electric gate holding their hands out for their daily bread! Comeuppance anyone!

No one knows who you are. They know who they think you are. They know nothing about the causes of your actions because they didn’t live in your skin. Likewise you don’t live in their skins. Judge not lest you be judged. And you will be judged. You will be judged by life. You are on a bobsled to your reward, whatever that reward may be.
