WITNESS: The Abomination

What’s wrong with America? Greater minds than mine have struggled with that question. Our country has been through hard and confusing times in its history, but there was always a base line. A list of things that would never change. Things you could count on to be true. God, country, and mom’s apple pie. Always there. Always constant.
And then it all changed. God was expelled from school, America was blamed for all the ills of the world, and mom’s apple pie was deemed unhealthy. And just like that . . . the base line was gone. Things that were thought to be irrefutably true were analyzed by “experts” and love, marriage, and raising children were redefined. Things that heretofore had never been mentioned in mixed company were being taught to our children in the schools we’d entrusted them to. Mathematics was even redefined and two plus two would equal whatever felt good. And classmates had two daddies. And the abomination began.
What is an abomination? You will note that those who expound this new world shy away from that word. It’s more harsh than the more user friendly bad. It describes the rotting flesh of a society gone mad. It tells of a destruction of all rules of common decency. And father turns against son, mother against daughter and members of families become enemies. These words were uttered two thousand years ago, and now “educated” minds try to tell us that the man who said them never even existed.
But He did exist. In a world gone mad His words are aspersed and the new base line is madness. It’s only when it throws off its mask of political correctness and rears its ugly head do we suddenly see it for what it really is. Evil! Doctors and politicians try to rationalize that evil, but for all their lip service they cannot rationalize Uvaldé!
Slowly, insidiously the truth seeps out. As the background of the killer comes to light the abomination becomes clearer and clearer, and the stink of it rises to heaven. Why was he allowed to continue, to proliferate his unholy madness. He did it because he was allowed to. Even in a small Hispanic village in Texas it was politically incorrect to chastise him out loud. The Supreme Court had made it a crime even to hate him. But, you hate him now. You’re not worried about Facebook jail now, are you. There is no reset on your iPhone that will allow us to start again, and bring those babies back. They are in the arms of the man the abomination tells us doesn’t exist.
You can subscribe to all the modern theories of life. You can read all the self help books. See your shrink. Tell him all your thoughts. He’ll give you a pill. But the abomination will still be there after they run out. What’s wrong with America? It has lost all common decency when it sold its soul to the abomination!

I am sickened by what has happened to this once great country. We were the last vestige of freedom and hope. All gone now. Every day I wake up and wait to see what else has deteriorated overnight and there’s always something. I don’t think the pendulum will swing back.
